Today marks 30 years since this game came out (in Japan, the timing was deliberate as it's past midnight over there). Seen a couple topics about the system before, and of course there's a more active one bashing on it, but I wanted to avoid that subject since I'm typically one of its defenders.

That said, the NEC PC-FX was one of the game consoles of all time. A year ago, I made something about the system at large, and it ended up becoming my watershed project; after completely embarrassing myself back in October and trying to get a grip on making things better, I started to find my footing there. I did want to cover some of the system's games afterwards, one of which had to be one of, if not the best-known game for the system: Zenki FX. What better time to post it than today?

So, I took the game a spin a couple months ago, tried to do some research, and got some extra info from a dood I got acquainted with after he caught wind of my original PC-FX video. This was the result. A bit of a short one, but...well, the game was also short, so it fits. Lmao.

I've said it elsewhere, but there's too little game there to be any kind of holy grail or hidden gem. It's got a decent play system and could have been a really solid beat-'em-up but there are only about two and a half levels and some bosses and midbosses, plus lots of unskippable, spoken (which makes it worse because you can't press a button to load the next line) dialogue in Japanese. If this were a Playstation game, it would go largely unnoticed.
The PC-FX has a couple of full on untranslated RPGs like Miraculum. If that were in English, maybe we'd have something really worth it.

I didn't even notice until one of my online friends brought it up.

Is that Donkey Kong?!
