Sooner or later I will have to leave YouTube aside despite its current state, but for some reason, I don't like YouTube, but I continue to use it as if I have a guilty pleasure on that platform, and I feel that I will have to leave the site in the near future, especially the videos with clickbait and the community, which is very toxic and the moderators of YouTube do nothing to report videos or comments like that. to deceive or displease people very badly. And also the annoying 6 to 15 second ads that you can't jump and on top of that up to 2 and among other things.

somehow, Youtube allows and recommends animal gore videos and animations based on infamous gore videos 💀

Google needs improve its shitty ass platform instead adding useless features and focusing in its shitty AI

Ever since Google bought YouTube, YouTube got worse by the minute.

-Awful Algorithms that tell YouTubers to not swear in the first 2-5 minutes with no funny adult jokes or they get demonetized,

-YouTube Kids (Now YouTube Family) got rid of the comments section when a family friendly video is uploaded.

-Ai that changes the options dramatically.

-And ads. Soooo many ads. And if that wasn't bad enough, Google/Youtube are trying to take down ad blocking add-ons because of corporate jerks need that extra dough.

The tagline for YouTube should now be called... Youtube: Advertise yourself.

And unlike with watching shows or gaming, video hosting doesn't have an alternate as trusty, so i gu4ess we'll have to suck it up i guess

Restricted mode is optional by the user. Where is the issue?
If you have ad block, then your account gets banned in couple days. Lost 2 the other day. Stay logged out and you're fine.
I use uBlock since years and Youtube never banned my account. I even use an extension to modify Youtube interface to my like, Google has 0 control over it. If what you say is true, they probably don't even know I am blocking their ads or doing anything.

this brings up another reason why alternatives when folks do use them they are usually how should i say unsavory individuals
i don't know any other alternatives. I've seen accounts get banned for doing bad stuff so there is someone managing it.

the first thing i see when i checked it out was a guy with no no flags all over his room
i'm just subscribed to a handful of game related channels so that's what i get recommended. There is one channel that uploads the 4Kids version of One Piece but it's uncut.

This channel has like 100 plus episodes of One Piece so far.

I have an unfounded theory for why they added this Restricted Mode. My guess is that they're getting pressure from "Mom Activist" groups and credit card companies wanting them to remove all "explicit" content the same way that Itch and Steam has been lately. My theory is that this feature was created just so Google can point to it and say "see, we're going to great lengths to hide unsavory content from the youths, just like you want!". They're throwing a wide net to catch anything that could be remotely controversial, while making it actually rather easy for users to disable (I think it's two clicks from any page on the entire site?). They haven't publicly said anything about it, because that would undermine the whole reason they created it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I approve of such a feature, but this is my suspicions of why they've added it and why it seems like such a purposeless thing, it's not actually something for themselves or their users at all.

Restricted mode is optional for user to enable for their kids, public institutions like school computers and whatnot. Problem?

As for AI and bots, real people on Youtube comments are also BS in same calibre. Youtube content was always low quality in anyway which I blame brain-dead "Youtube Poop" videos instead but problem?

¿¿¿Problemo???

lolol

I've been on YouTube with Adblock Browser for quite a while and my (2nd) account hasn't been banned.

i wouldn't say it's unfounded it's literally why coppa happened parents refuse to supervise their kids

The real problem of YouTube is just the overdose of ads.

The site's politic is simply watching ads in order for someone continuing watched one episode of an series in a legitm channel who is able to upload episodes. Sometimes, there are a series of 4 to 10 ads, majority of them can't be skipabble, before continuing. But there are the Premium paid system, who turns off every possible commercial for one channel who made the payment in only one year - if the owner wants to renew the contract, he must paid again for another year and keeping renewing every year. And the Premium payment have another problem: the price to get the system. Not everyone have money to pay the ad-off bill.

For those who can't have money to subscribe the Premium system, there are simply alternatives with other www-programs such as Opera and Firefox, but YouTube created a blockade who avoid someone to watch videos on the system with Ad-Block extensions(sometimes this occur in 70% of times). This made YouTube boring just because the ads. But someday, Google will turn the table and end this policy of obligatory ads, if the group revise the site's service terms, since everyone have the choices by law to not watch videos with ads or see the videos with ads.
