I don't know if you like shmups, but Bio Metal is pretty cool. I'm not sure if Hagane is considered popular (I believe it's rather obscure) and it's very tough, but good. Also Skyblazer and Crystal Beans of Dungeon Explorer come to mind.

jk, I really like Brandish, but you probably won't. Umihara Kawase is great if you like extremely difficult platformers. You might also like Ihatovo Monogatari. And try Brain Lord. I bet I'll think of others too.

But I don't know, the mainstream SuFami/SNES stuff is really good actually. You should definitely try it. Like I know Earthbound is really oversaturated by now, but it's excellent.

Oh and also the Wolf Team RPGs, Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia.

You do realize that Hokuto no Ken had various retellings of the series, console-wise right? Hardly any of them got the actual story down and was/were lost in translation. Only time we got the entire story down was with Ken's Rage 1 and 2.
