We all know the situation the Xbox is in nowadays. Some say it all started during the press launch of Xbox One , that they started dooming themselves. Others say that they’re in panic mode with the release of the Steam Machine. Are they really bowing out or seeking an unlikely alliance?

I believe this is Microsoft's last chance because I don't think much more will come of it. It's a real shame how Microsoft managed to ruin this console so badly. I don't know what else can be said.

Every current PlayStation "exclusive" is, or will enviably be on PC. Steam right now is having a PlayStation sale:

Go back two-to-three years ago Playstation elitist swore that these games would never, ever be on PC.

Xbox is changing its marketing strategy to be a service provider, that's why they're pushing for Streaming content & they're testing the waters for Gamepass to be on playstation.
(The same way EA's own subscription service currently operates)
However, Xbox has always had more exclusive content than the PS5.
Thanks to hundreds of indie games and strategy titles that are also Gamepass PC/Steam.

Funny how Sony fans swear that having their exclusives be on PC "still makes them PS5 exclusive" yet when Xbox does the same?
That doesn't count. Sure buddy ::sailor-embarrassed

The second Halo: Combat Evolved remake being on the PS5 isn't as big of a deal as people think it is.
It's not some gotcha against Microsoft.

Xbox, whether you approve or not is becoming a subscription service provider who just happens to make hardware that runs said subscription.

Sony?
We have entire songs about how the PlayStation 5 has no games ::eggmanlaugh

Hardly. I think they are just moving toward the handheld market, as since there are already so many out there, the technology is in a pretty good place, so they can mass produce handheld's like the ROC Xbox consoles and hike the prices up 300%. Sony will follow suit. It's no panic mode or last gasp at trying to reclaim the console market. It's simply business.

This is of course, just another step at killing off physical games, which is almost fully here anyhow.
Almost all games are digital now, and if they get their way, along with Sony and Nintendo, even digital downloads will vanish from their landscapes, and it'll all be streaming.

VALVe's Gabebox (yes going to call it that forever) will be the last bastion of owning games along with GOG

And about Xbox exclusives on PlayStation, it'll go the other way too...
There will be PS games on Xbox as well. It's all about money in the end, and it makes more sense business wise to split profits of dying or failing franchises that are not raking in much, if any money anymore.

Can't believe Nintendo will burry Sega, Microsoft and Sony's hardware divisions.

Funny to see they winning the console wars (not by outcompeting the others, mind you, but just by being the only one left standing) whithout even engaging in the competition since the early 2000's

I recently read a news report that Sony will be extending its PSN requirement to PC for some games. I think it's about time because this PlayStation account requirement was really not right.
