I finished Rygar - the Legendary Adventure on PS2 this week and I really had a good time with it. Then I searched for the character of the arcade original:

Good enough. 80s gaming artwork at its finest. The PS2 remake for reference:

But then, I discovered that the Wii had a re-release of the PS2 title and they really did something:

What the actual fuck.

Please guys tell me that this is the worst redesign we can get.

he looks badass, people have no idea what there on about, that design is cool
I think it's less that it looks bad and more that it's just such a huge leap from the original. Honestly, a lot of "bad redesigns" would be much better if they were new character's and not redesigns IMO.

I know he looks cool, but not Simon Belmont (or the other one). He looks like the new member of the Belmont family, that what I wish to say.

That guy doesn't come even close to what Simon Belmont went through

when i see designs like this, i am always of the opinion that both designs can peacefully coexist
even moreso considering the redesign on the right was exclusive to a spin-off fighting game
they are both neat for different reasons
