As someone who played both versions, it's kinda similar AI-wise. What makes the PS2 version worse is that they removed the slowdowns. No, not the performance slowdowns, the slowdowns for hit effects, or KOs, stuff that doesn't get in the way. It actively makes some characters harder to use.SVC Chaos had more than a word with me, it gave me an earful and stole my lunch.

I got it again on my ps5 when it was re-released recently, it's great but very difficult as it really doesn't like the human player winning, scratch that, even trying. I played the ps2 one years ago and I could swear that really wasn't anywhere near as hard as the arcade version.
