This year too, between university exams and personal issues, I was lucky to have cultivated my greatest passion since I was a child, completing some games that I had wanted to try for a long time, and playing others that I had already completed.

  • Mirror's Edge
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth
  • Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course
  • Metaphor ReFantazio
  • Silent Hill 2 REMAKE
  • Elden Ring
  • MARVEL Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Battlefield 3
  • MARVEL Midnight Suns
  • Death Stranding
  • Machinima Museum
  • Fallout 4
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • DOOM (1996)
  • The Testament of Sherlock Holmes
  • Telltale Games - The Walking Dead
  • Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper
  • Batman Arkham Asylum

The most boring was definitely Death Stranding. I wouldn't play it again even if they paid me - I got it for free from Epic Games anyway.
The most frustrating of course is Elden Ring... the nightmares of that damned final battle...
The most satisfying was Metaphor - sensationally snatched the GOTY award, personal opinion.
The most exciting, however, is Guardians of the Galaxy: a plot worthy of a Gunn film, and very funny characters.

Hate to ask, but is this a duplicate thread? @Waffles it sounds vaguely similar to a thread by mesiah

Jesus Christ, I had no idea how many games I've already completed this year. But here we go:

Time Splinter: Future Perfect
Resident Evil 1, 2, 3 and 4
GTA 3D (3, VC, SA, VCS and LCS)
GTA 4
GOW (1, 2, 3, GoS and Chains)
Bully
Mortal Kombat 3 and 4
Fallout (3, 4 and new vegas)
 Black
Far Cry (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Bioshock (1, 2, infinite)
Borderlands 1 and 2
Lego Series (all iconic games)
Rayman Legends
Metal Gear (1, 2, 3, 4, PW and almost finishing 5)
Castlevania SOTN)
Megaman X (all of SNES)
Cuphead DLC
Dino Crisis
Silent Hill (1 and 2)
Super Mario (3, world, 64, sunshine, galaxy, odyssey)
Banjo-Kazoeei)
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Dragon Ball (BT3 and Spaking zero)
And many more..

I didn't even realize that I had finished so many games this year. I had friends over whom I haven't seen in ages and we finished some games that we played when we were kids. We went through almost the entire library of SNES, N64 and PS2 games.

I completed the ones that were left while I was studying for college, so I don't think I even paid attention to how many there were.

By 2025 I hope to finish some other PS3 games since I got a brand new one to play with. I plan to debut it with The Last of Us.

And finally, I wanted to thank you for reminding me of so many good times and wish everyone a happy new year!!

only two, Burnout Legends and Cars Race o Roma on psp. my gf gave me her old psp 1000 a while ago, so i play a number of games until the memory card decided to kill it self. I've already switched the memory card with a new one but the analog stick is still not yet fixed. i try to play another games like Chrono Trigger, Animal Crossing Wild World, Super Mario World, A link to the past, Links Awakening, Ocarina Of Time, Gran Turismo 1 and 2, NFS High Stakes, Final Fantasy 1, Final Fantasy VI, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Alien Hominid and more, but i always drop it after 2-3 hours. I managed to play Pokemon Platinum for like 8 hours and then never played it again. We decided to play Pokemon Emerald together to see who's beat the game first, and at the end she beat it first because I stop playing after 2 hours of gameplay. idk, I think I'm burnt out, and it makes me sad really, i lost the joy of video games, the thing that i passionate about :(

According to my backloggd, I played 88 games in 2024. Of course, not all of these I completed, I probably must have quit around 15, so 70 its a good estimate. Some highlights:

-JRPGs: Mystic Ark, Live a Live and Linda³ Again
-Plenty of classic beat em ups, most recently the D&D ones and The Punisher
-For more modern games: Baldur's Gate 3, Ratchet Rift Apart and Control
-The OG Neverwinter Nights and a few modules (currently playing the second game)
-3D GTA marathon while I wait for VI, from GTA3 to San Andreas, currently playing IV
-Rule of Rose
-Several point & click like Edna & Harvey: New Eyes and Hypnospace Outlaw
-Max Payne 1 and a mix of payne and gta called Total Overdose

Phenomenal list! It’s incredible you finished most of the GTAs and GOWs haha!

I manage to complete 20 games and 100% one game. I would most likely hit 30-40 games if it was not for wasting allot of days in mmo games.

Trust me, sometimes I too feel like I'm losing the joy of playing when I find myself in front of the PC or my 360. Maybe that's why I take refuge in retrogaming, I find myself more in that spirit - the spirit of the games that have accompanied me so much as a child and teenager during the most difficult moments.
I hope you can find again the joy of doing what you love so much.

I've finished about 20 games this year. Finally had a chance to start a new series (Dragon Quest) and play some games that sat on my backlog for a really long time (Remember Me and Strider). I enjoyed playing almost all of them, specially Psychonauts 2, that game was the best! And Lego Star Wars was such a let down, didn't expect to be so boring lol

Now I'm going to start 2025 with Breath of Fire or Metaphor Refantazio.
Happy new year, guys!

Even I'm impressed, most of it was at the beginning of this year and now at the end. I think that when you play with friends you don't even notice the time passing.

I can't wait to get a PS4 to finish the GOW saga.

xD I definitely can’t wait to see what you’ve got cooking. If youve finished THAT much in ‘24 (which believe me, is a LOT) I can only imagine what you got in store for ‘25

I play a few of these games every year, lol.
But completing a series of games is really difficult for me.

With the PS3 I'll be able to try out other classics and continue with the ones I'm missing, and who knows, maybe a new PC or a PS4 will come along...

i hope so. im just not yet to find a way to work this out, video game has always been with me since i was a kid, i started playing since i was two years old, i grew up with PS2 games like Granturismo, Need For Speed, Midnight Club, God Of War, Ace Combat, GTA, Final Fantasy, etc and some old pc games like Counter Strike. i remember playing for seven hours straight when i was a kid and never feel bored. but now, 30 minutes is too much. the only games i play right now is racing games, but honestly, it kinda dried out. i really want to explore other genre, especially 2000s JRPG. but whenever i try to play it, there's always this kind of urge to stop and do something else. the spirit of video games is still there, the urge to play, to explore and to enjoy video games again like the old days, but the joy it self are gone, its just not fun anymore, its always tiring...

anyway i really hope i found that joy again. Im trying to fixing my old PS2 to play some of my old games again now, especially Ace Combat Zero, i really love that game, i miss it sooo much. the machine is running, but the Audio component is cooked, and i have no idea how to fix it
