I have been excited to hear more about this game ever since it had been announced years ago and now that we actually have a release date, I'm overcome with joy because I have not played a Silent Hill game in a long time and this one shows so much promise. Not getting my hopes up of course but I'm still looking forward to playing it.

How about you? What are your thoughts and do you plan on playing the game when it releases?

I hope I can play it, it's been a long time coming. I'm not convinced by the idea of it being very heavy on combat, so I'm hoping that's actually well done this time, it's not something any Silent Hill game has excelled at.

I get that. The writer seems to have a good track record so I hope that the story will be memorable, looks like they worked well on that aspect based on the trailers but we have to wait and see.

I like how the character in the trailer kinda just got her ass kicked. It seems plenty stressful at least, in a good way.

I hope you enjoy whatever you're playing. Take your time, that's the most important thing. I also hope that it won't be too short but I do not want it to overstay its welcome, would honestly rather having something that's on the shorter side and doesn't have a bloated story with unnecessary elements but we have to only wait and see how it will turn out.

to be fair they have now properly gone away from their original city into a Japanese village (giving me more fatal frame vibes but you know) and in some way... perhaps this reformation after so long could revive silent hill properly? also definitely try worthy from how at least they showcased it but in some way also "wait until a proper gameplay trailer"

*forgot to add but i kinda wish there would had been still some more done with "P.T" or "Silent Hills" but canceled game is canceled game

yeah i agree, better short than long without a reason to be that long, still i hope the game setting won't be only one day+night, i hope it will at least go for some days ingame to deepen a bit our knowledge of the relationships between the protagonist and the other characters, so that the plot will be more enjoyable, but we will see what they have in store for us, let's hope for the best!! i hope the silent hill franchise will come back for more titles after this, and not only for remakes/remastered!!!

I would like to play it .
But having the Silent Hill name to it , does seem not doing justice for the franchise and comes to being unfitting .

Making another franchise out of it would be much more beneficial and we finally get a new outstanding horror-game series that i can appreciate more.

But still it looks cool and im interested into . I hope the combat aint the main-focus and its more about the survival . SH2R came to me more as an action game instead of an horror one thanks to its way too much evolved combat that i got RE6 vibes out of it .

I'd like to. Eventually. Definitely not a day one buy. I wish SH would return to glory, but IDK if this is the first step to redemption or further distance.

It's been a long time since I don't get excited by a Silent Hill since Silent Hill 3. Although this game could be called Siren Hill F, I really like the art. Of course, it's asian style, so for me it's instantly better than western, but even so, I wasn't convinced with the remake of the 2nd installment, I prefer the original.

Combat wise, I think it will make the game more engaging, as it seems to be based on timings and a little bit of skill, but I am sure it won't be too difficult. I also hope there are no fire arms and everything is short distance, it wouldn't fit in the story.

If I am able, I will get it as soon as posible, but the japanese release, as it is like 30% cheaper, and I prefer to have the japanese cover than the spanish one.

The only thing I really don't like is the inclusion of 60fps, the animation looks awkward. I hope the quality mode puts the game 30fps locked.

Unfortunately I can't play SHF cause I'm poor and I dont have PS5 or a PC for games, but if I could, I whould play it, Although it doesn't give me the feeling of a Silent Hill, as a horror video game it looks very interesting, and I love Japanese horror.

I hope that you will one day get the console or PC of your dreams.

I agree on the firearms as it probably would feel out of place for that era in particular. I also find 60fps games to run a little weird which is in itself weird to say since it's more performance but you know, some things are meant to run at a specific speed. Hope that the game will be optimized enough on launch to be fully playable but I won't be playing it right away, would be nice still.

Silent Hill: When They Cry seems cool.
But in all honesty, it's gonna cost over $60 probably, which means another decade of me playing more indie games before the shiny new Silent Hill

Yeah, it seems really interesting. I like Higurashi a lot, so having Ryukishi07 writing the story is a plus. It doesn't look at all like a Silent Hill game, but it does look like a solid Japanese horror game (which we rarely get anymore).

My only real gripe is that Akira Yamaoka doesn't seem to have a big part in composing the music. That dude is about the only thing that's made any Silent Hill media from the past 10-15 years feel even remotely authentic. Dude kept the lights on while everyone else from Team Silent headed for greener pastures. He deserves better.
