Rejected will there ever be upvoteing like reddit?

We have a decent reaction system. I'm not sure I like the thumbs-down one, but presumably it functions the same way as a thumbs-up for profile numbers, as it should when we're regularly contributing to discussion and threads mostly get the attention they deserve. No need to bring each other down I think!

Over time Reddit's up/down vote has been abused, where bots and groups will downvote your score to 10 or less so it disappears from the front and try to make it seem unpopular.

On GoG a rep system was used where the same thing, your posts would get downvoted and you'd lose score, lose enough and you weren't allow to post links, or even make new topics/threads.

I agree with Zemus, having reactions is more than sufficient. Nothing that can be gamed or abused.

What everyone else said, I disliked the post initially but since everyone else is making post I want too as well. Reddit is a pretty terrible website and frankly the people there aren't the type of people I want to be around or emulate. There's nothing worse than bubble culture, or brigrading posts because they aren't slanted towards what you believe, whether thats about video games or politics. Having an actual interesting, nuanced discussion is what seperates a good website with a healthy community and awful places like Reddit or god forbid ResetEra. They're echo chambers filled with bland people, censorship and mods that ban you for having the "wrong" opinion.

There's no need for it.

It creates a very toxic environment that's as far removed from what we want RGT to be as possible. I have never been a fan of negative reactions in general... in my opinion, valuable posts and contributions should be rewarded, whilst bad one can be ignored. A downvote system makes them both impossible.

There are many things that seem good down on paper like Socialism/Communism; Then seeing it's implemented/used/abused you then can come to the conclusion through examples it's a bad idea.

There's nothing wrong in asking, but like mistakes we need to learn from them rather than repeating them.

Though ultimately it's up to spike/admins to decide on...

thx

I don't think so folks.
People get downvoted on reddit for saying things that are true but others disagreed with or don't believe them (even if they are true). I don't think it helps anyone.

I leave you with this, (Not reddit but damn):
