I saw this game many years ago, in SNES times. It was in japanese, of course, but I loved the main theme and the looks and its gameplay.

Now I'm seeing lots of translations for hundreds of games, some games having several translations too, but for some reason Madara 2 never was translated.

Is it because is a bad game or something? I don't understand why this game remains undiscovered for so many people, I'm always expecting for a translation but it never comes...

Gideon Zhi has been working on it since 2008...he has many many projects on hold, but he is ok with other wanting to do them, just nobody else wants to.

There's hundreds, thousands of untranslated games. Many of them are niche, obscure and forgotten. It's inevitable people focus more on more popular stuff or the harder games to translate like full RPGs. Doubled up with all the games people have wanted for years or stuff that randomly blows up on social media.
Madara 2 is probably a bit too unknown for teams to make a translation and translations tend to take a while, so they prioritise stuff everyone knows while other teams translate something a little more obscure for fun.

You forgot to add, it's an old games from the SNES is a B*TCH to hack. More modern games are more easier cause programmers aren't bound to tight limitations.

I used to play Madara 2 when I was a kid, it was in japanese of course, but I still managed to have fun with it, the combat system is quite unique and the music was great as well, it's a shame it hasn't been translated yet

Sort of like asking the meaning of life, isn't it?

I feel your pain, lots of games I like seem to get passed up for translation as well, and really we're prisoner to the whims of good Samaritans who earn nothing from this but our thanks. That, and the infinitesimal chances that someone in our wild, wild world of ours is:
  1. Interested in the same (often obscure) un-localized media that we are.
  2. Has the capability to both translate the game into the desired language, as well as implement that translation into the desired game (assuming that there are ready made and convenient tools to make this happen with the least amount of resistance).
  3. Is willing to put the time and effort to make this all possible on their own budget
The only solution would be to do it all yourself, but that simply puts all the onus of what I was just talking about on yourself, which can't be very fun either. I'm also starting to think that anyone who does end up flawlessly understanding Japanese (or whatever) fails to see a need in trying to localize it for other people, because, why bother?

I've always toyed with the idea of opening some sort of Patreon/GoFundMe to try and fund my own translation team in order to get all the games I want translated. But I don't have the capital (or connections) to get that started.
