Hello I lately try to romhack some rooms on gba and every time I try it my emulator only show a white screen! I don't get any result.
I use VBA 1.7 Version and I use tool hacks for Pokémon red fire version (REV1) USA and eroup like mart editor and other find in this site:
this happened to other romhacks I downloaded like violet version.
Can someone help?

You mean you tried to hack Pokemon Violet and resulted in white screen?
Or when you open unmodified Pokemon Violet in emulator, it's white screen?

No any hacked versions of Pokémon I open have same result. Violet is a hack version I download before and it have same fate.
Emulator have speed but no sound or graphic will load.

It sounds like an emulation problem.

Open VBA and go to Options > Emulator > Save Type.
Try setting it to Automatic and the Flash size to 128K.

Test this and see if problem still persists?

I will try it now

First, 1.7 is woefully outdated. You need a newer version. Secondly, this emulator requires a save-type configuration side file to avoid such crashes.

I use the auto save type and flash 128k
Well I think I have to re download VBA. In fact I use it on my pentuim so that's why it so old.

Try the newer version anyway. It's likely the requirements are actually lower. When changing a save type, you need to discard the older save and open the game again, too, to make sure it's created with the right size.

Okay so I should discard save files.

It depends on the game. Which is it? saves won't work if they don't find the expected save type configured.

See it's not just size that is a consideration, but type too. GBA carts came with many types of save ram chips and the game expects to find the right one. Don't trust only savestates, or you could cause yourself a mess down the line (believe me, I would know).

Pokémon uses 128k Flash, but like I said there are many types. I'll attach my own list of save types. It doesn't cover every GBA game, but at least several. If you use this list place it on the same directory as the emulator itself, and the program will know how to set it for each game present (you'll have to discard older saves though).

Remember to decompress.

I know that why I have 3 Emulators now(copy pasted of VBA😁)
I Will use the 128k only for hacking.
I was about to suggest the same. 👍
Make sure to change Save Directory of your copies... otherwise, they will save in same directory, and it can result in save file corruption.

Well I learn a Trick for VBA every VBA even same version can work separately. So you can use them in different situations. I have 3, one for play, one for trade and one for try hacks.
