I'm sure most of your are like me and have a pretty considerable backlog going. Do you have an actual list or is it all mental for you? I took some time to write down a list a couple years back, and have hardly made a dent in it! But it's been helpful to keep my "head in the game", so to speak. Here is my retro list. (I also have a modern / indie list, and specifically a Nintendo Switch List.) I have played several of these games in the past, but haven't beaten them, or I played them so long ago that I've forgotten them. Crossed out items have been completed so far. Pardon abbreviations and misspellings, this wasn't meant for public view when it was created 😅

Yeah, I know it's a lot. Probably more than I'll ever play in my lifetime.
What's on your back log?

Most Vita and 3ds games, but this evening I've just started "Eternal Sonata", a game I've been looking forward to play along with FF13 since its release :) (just got a cheap xbox360 recently)

PS3

Okami
If you have a Switch, I believe Okami is best played on a touch screen.
When I got it for ps2, I dropped it almost immediately, I found it very frustrating to draw with the stick, but when I've been able to draw with my finger on the screen it was like from night to day!

There's also Okamiden on DS: I remember I bought it when it came out and really enjoyed it (I had not played Okami yet, back then)

Libble Rabble. 1983. Arcade. Namco.
That one game that I can't remember the name of that I think was for the PSX??

I don't find overly long backlogs useful.

For now I want to play these:

Oh I totally forgot about 3DS and PS Vita!

Nice! My brother gave me an Xbox 360 a few years back and I didn't really know what to do with it, didn't know what games to get, so I gave it back to him. 🤦‍♂️

Good point on Okami on Switch, and it's only $5 on sale these days.

I have 20-30 rpgs on various systems on my backlog that’s at least 15hrs of gameplay for each one.
I didn't post it but yeah I have a separate list of just RPGs 😅

Not sure about PS1's SO2, but you might be better off playing the PSP version (there's also a great SO1 for the PSP) 😁
Good suggestion, but I'm not crazy about the blurred way they "improved" the sprites on PSP, and I don't like voice acting, so I think PS1 is the way to go for me.

The Bouncer! Wow I haven't played that in a long time, hope you enjoy it.

Yeah I wouldn't say they are "useful", but cathartic maybe? At least for me.

My backlog is as big as Santa's List man I have accepted I'm never going to through it lol. But atm breaking through with Tales of Berseria and I am 100% loving it.

It was slimming down until I decided to dive into NEC PC-FX and explore more of FC/NES library. I use HowLongToBeat to keep track of my backlog and progress. Breaking them up into sections;
  • Playing: Currently on rotation playing through several stages coming back to them and eventually settling down to completing one game at a time.
  • Next Up: Follow-up games, in queue for playing next.
  • Pause: Half way completed, played years ago, plan to continue until completion in near future.
  • Backlog: Never before played games I plan to start playing until completion in the near future.
  • Hiatus: Started off playing, played years ago. majority are RPGs that I do not have the time to complete.
  • Retired: Played years ago, and do not plan to resume playing or complete.
So if you take the amount of each section it's reaching towards 500 games. But this is a realistic list, games I have a strong preference for. I have made some progress last year completing 82. I primarily play retro so I don't have any separate list for modern. Mine is about split with 50/50 games I've played in the past but haven't finished, and games I've played for the first time either because it was on hardware I missed out on or it was recently patched (translated).
