A few years ago, I had a copy of Banjo Kazooie that had been in a flood. On top of the cart being straight up brown, I could hear rust inside the cart, and it would overheat my console after playing it for thirty minutes. I want to know if there's anybody else here who's had or has a game that bad.

Probably my fightstick. It still works well but I've mistreated it like worse than a woman accused of witchcraft in the 1600s. The lid for the compartment where you store the cable is gone, a corner is shattered and I have an old sticker of Vegeta on it that I'm quite sure has gained sentience after being in a shitty storate locker for too long.

Still works fine though, but the worst part is that I still prefer playing fighting games on pad.

Zillion for the Sega Master System.
I Bought it at a Pawnshop years ago. had water damage <the coverart is stuck to the inside of the plastic of the case>. It "Works" when it Wants to

As a kid, I had a copy of ET for the 2600 where the chip was loose in the cartridge, so you had to be real careful or it wouldn't fit into the console right.

Currently, just a second-hand Japanese copy of PSO for Dreamcast. The game itself is fine, but the case is one of those double jewel cases and the back part of the bottom is cracked off.

There's this one Star Wars game for the DS that I just found laying about one day and took it home with me. It didn't have a case, I never figured out the game worked, and when I tried to sell it to GameStop, they said "it had no value." It's been sitting around in a glass jar at home since, never to be picked up again lmao

I don't exactly remember what it was, but I do know it wasn't a Lego game. Strong feeling it's Lethal Alliance or a Clone Wars game. Can't exactly check now as I didn't bring it to my dorm

controllers
"Controllers" huh?

Those N64 Analogs, they are off center to say the least(Damn those rotate the stick mini-games).
My naturally greasy hands, don't get along with analogs, specially with the hot and dry climate over here.

Several discs completely cracked into halves, and one had a small crack on the edge then exploded into powder in a friend's CD drive.

I donated my cartridge collection long ago, but a lot of them didn't have the yellow plastic covers and were just green PCBs with black chips & wax dots lying around... wait, I still have a few of those friend got (he owes me money so am keeping his Famiclone).

Tons of gamepads, mice and kbs are in terminal shape, highlights are one of PS2 gamepads that started melting during a hot summer and then got all soft and disgusting, plus the bag with the other one disassembled into parts I never got to fixing.

Well honestly not a signle one almost I take good care of my stuff. But I do have one game but it´s not busted up per say but it´s missing 1 thing and it´s the second disc.

I had a copy of Grandia for PS1 that I got for 9 bucks years ago. And during one movie the game fell out of a box and disc 2 just slpit in 2. I was sad as hell as it´s an all time favorite game for me. And sadly when that happen Retro games already become very popular and well everse sense then replacing it has just been me thinking I don´t wanna pay 100-150 just to get a disc 2.

I usually don't pick up games if they are loose/in bad condition, so the only ones I have usually came with a console. I have a few SNES repros from the console's time that are rough. I only keep them around because they are good for testing consoles, since the rest of my SNES games are japanese and I still don't have a SFC.

I had Bonk's adventure for NES. I went to play it one day and a short went through the system and ruined it. Just a glitchy mess when you power it on now. Expensive rare game now worth nothing.

I was walking down the street one day when I found a rom board lying on the sidewalk. It had no actual cartridge casing surrounding it. I picked it up, examined it for a few seconds, and determined that it was a SNES rom board, though the game was still unknown. I brought it home and put it in the SNES. It was a still-working copy of Krusty's Super Fun House. I probably still have it somewhere.

My Brothers GTA 1 disc with a thousand scratches all over it that still works in my SCPH-1001, that or My Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Nes Pak with holographic sticker squares all over the cover.

My poor PSX games CD bag, back in the day the ultimate treasure in the house now reduced to a footnote in our house, scratched and some of the front sticker peeled, note even able to be played since we lack a machine...

i was never allowed a copy of the first GTA because "its too violent and encourages criminal behavior"

it didn't work at all 😑
ofc.

Two of the Pokémon games on the Ds/3ds. The Ds cartridge got eaten by the couch. Wasn’t rescued until Dad was taking the couch apart to be disposed of, it was found within its corpse.

The 3ds cartridge was found within in the wall of one of my sisters room. My best guess is she stole it, hiding it within the wall.

My copy of Vampire Killer for the Mega Drive. The corner of the cartridge is broken and has black tape covering it up. But thankfully it's only the cartridge shell that is broken, and the PCB is fine (and label, but I don't care so much about that) so it's easy to ignore. The game is pretty expensive and I was able to get it for a big discount due to the damage so I really don't mind at all. I just wish I knew how it was broken lol.

This one is actually my wife's and not mine, but we have a copy of Dr Mario on Game Boy that's missing the label and has writing in marker where the label is supposed to be. Her brother wrote it when they were kids. I think it's supposed to say Dr Mario but honestly I can't even read it.

My copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 on the Xbox 360, as I played the hell out of the game since it came out over 11 years ago, I specially played a lot of GTA Online mode too.
