While this one is legendary, what got me was rounding the corner in the hall leading to the basement and seeing the Boo there.

The castle had been a safe sanctuary up until this point, and seeing an enemy suddenly in it was like a jumpscare.

That boo was a warning for all the nonsense coming up, now that I think back on it.
