The lack of exploration was discouraging -- I thought the protagonist was being shuffled through a handful of locations over and over. I didn't hate the light strategy RPG battles, but they didn't seem especially brisk or difficult. I don't recall which difficulty I tried. * [I]Dragon Quest 7[/I] (localized as [I]Dragon Warrior 7) [/I]is a seriously flawed game which I kind of like. It asks the player to constantly talk with nameless NPCs and explore corners of towns after events. It has optional content, but progressing through the story requires time and patience. If you can tell yourself, "I have one game to complete in the next few months," sort of like a vintage graphic adventure game, then you might care for DQ7. If not, then play either [I]Dragon Quest 5 [/I]for its story, or [I]Dragon Quest 9[/I] for its customization features and side content. [/QUOTE]
