Whatever happened to Clear Card Season 2?

I have been a fan of CCS ever since i watched the anime in 2022, it helped me in a dark time after the death of a loved one and losing my job. So much so i have bought merchandise for it, i have bought the entire manga collection from both the original CSS AND Clear Card arcs, i played the PS1 game, i watched the movies, and recently watched Clear Card Season 1.

Why is Season 2 taking so long, and why is there so few info?. Isn't CCS like the most iconic Magical Girl only second to Sailor Moon? It's gonna be a decade since the start of the Clear Card Manga and that story ended. Meanwhile the Anime ends on a very unsatisfactory teasing cliffhanger. I remember hearing in 2023 that a second Season was on the way but no dice since then.

Do you guys have theories as to why?

COVID really seemed to impact a number of Japanese productions, so maybe they are still dealing with production slowdowns because of that?

I watched CCS as a kid, and it was the first manga I bought because I was in school while the show was airing. Recording VHS wasn't a thing in our house.

I abandoned Clear Card early on. I was going to give it a chance if the pace wasn't as glacial as it often is for CLAMP stuff, but it seemed like that's how things were going. At least the original is re-"airing" here in Brazil. On Youtube.

I really enjoy the original series, but I could not get into Clear Card. I was watching it when the season was first rolling around and I got to 7 episodes and just stopped watching. It just didn't capture my attention as much as the original. Sometimes I wonder if I should watch it again and maybe I'll get into after a second shot.
