I owe my earliest fond memories to this fella:

I remember how my parents had to take it away from me for a while because I got a little too excited with its missile-shooting capabilities XD But it was such a great toy (it even displayed an "anime" on its belly!).

I no longer remember what happened to it, but I regret not being able to pass it down.

What about you?

That's an easy choice. I loved the LEGO sets as a kid. Particularly the Robin Hood and Black Knight sets.

Oh yeah and TMNT action figures were also my thing:

The best when I was a kid is a mcboat happy meals, after school my parent always drive me to mcd in downtown to buy happy meals. good old days.

My parents bought me a lot of stuff, every Christmas. However, we had this tradition where they always bought me Medieval castle sets. I enjoyed it a lot (picrel); my brother and I used to play with that shit for hours and hours. I had this huge collection of toy castles, armies and weaponry. Later on, as I became a teen, I would use some of the soldiers as figures for my cheap D&D campaigns, lol.

Before I got into video games or anime or any of that other nerd BS, my most prized possession was my Thomas the Tank Engine Wooden Train Set. Like the picture above, the tracks were all modular pieces of wood that you could stick together however you wanted, and the trains were all die-cast and had magnetic connectors, so you could put them in any order you preferred and go for a ride. The arrangement this picture has is child's play, though – I set up massive, room-covering labyrinths for these trains to go through, with massive peaks and valleys that wove 360º around our spare room.

I spent so much time with this set as a kid... even the look of those track pieces is bringing back memories. I was such, such a fan of the Thomas the Tank Engine TV show – I even went to a Thomas "world" in Toronto – and, according to my parents, I could name every character off from memory with perfect accuracy before I was in pre-school. I'm pretty sure this is why I like character-driven franchises like Sonic, Transformers, and Queen's Blade so much. I LOVE YOU THOMAS AND PERCY AND GORDON AND SIR TOPHAM HAT!!!!!!! ❤️🚃❤️
