Whenever there is a new translation released for the Sega Saturn or PC-Engine (Hucard & CD) my heart jumps from joy. Lately there has been a ton of great releases for the Saturn but unfortunately not so many for the PCE. For which console do you guys get really excited whenever there is another translation released?

Console doesn't really matter to me as long as I can emulate it.
I'm much more concerned with what game it is than what console it's on.

I don't really mind, as long as the games are ones I'm particularly interested in. In the case of the PC Engine, I'm not sure if it already exists, but I’d really like a very faithful translation of Snatcher, as well as for other much more niche titles (and on this platform, there's no shortage of those, so to speak!).

While I also don't care about the console but rather the game since I use emulator I think my hopes would go up if it is a game for PSP since it has many untranslated games that I'm interested on

I see. I only play retro games and on old CRT. Of course there is many great games for various system and I like to play some of these as well, but for the Saturn and PCE I like to play even some of the bad ones which I rarely do on other consoles.

Some consoles have a more interesting pool of untranslated games than others. The NES is pretty damn tapped out, for example. There are still a few promising SNES games, but most of the great unlocalized games have gotten patches. That's why it's more exciting for some of us when a Saturn or PCE-CD game gets a translation.
I'll add the PS1 - as popular as it was, there's a lot of untranslated stuff, probably because they're more work to translate. I'd like to see more PS2 translations as well. PSP too.

I totally agree. Unfortunately no translation exist for Snatcher on the PC engine. Yes, If I could have it my way there are tons of obscure games for the PCE I would love to play in english.

Any are exciting, really.
But in particular, I get all giddy for PS2 and PCE games. There's a few really interesting PCE/PCE-CD RPG's that would be rad to play.

I think the problem is it's not just text that needs work in the CD games. There's a ton of voice acting that would need to be looked at. Personally, I'd be okay with subtitles if it were doable.

Fully agree but also for me personally that since both the PCE, Saturn (NES/SNES) are the consoles I have been non-stop playing on since release and the first consoles I owned that they are therefor extra dear to me. I quit buying new consoles a long time ago and today only play on consoles released before the PS2. I still though consider myself a gamer and at least once weekly play for at a few hours. Whenever a new great game translation is released I jump from joy the same way some people do whenever a new Zelda/GTA game is announced :P

I defentially agree with your choices for More PC Engine/Turbo Grafx CD and Sega Saturn Games getting English Fan translations (like what they did with the Galaxy Fraulein Yuna and Cotton games)

for me personally,I would love to see more Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64 and PSP Games getting more fan translations,I was extreamly happy when the Bomberman Jetters Densetsu no Bomberman GBA Game finnally got fan translatied, and I would defentially love to see more hidden japanese N64 and GBA Gems getting this treatment, like with Genseishin Justirisers for the GBA by konami based on the 2004 TOkusatsu series, and I would love to see the japanese version of "Bomberman Hero" fan translated, since I heard that version had a toned down difficulty compared to the english release:P

PCE and PSX

It doesn't matter to me. If it piques my interest, then I'll look into it.

Sega Saturn by a landslide. And that's simply by virtue of how little us westerners got to see from the console. It was the last major console that almost exclusively pandered to Japan.

I'm always excited for any new translation for an interesting game for sure.

That said, it does definitely feel extra special when it's for a Saturn game.
I never had a Sega console growing up or even knew anyone else who did, so their overall catalogue is still really fresh to me even now, with the Saturn in particular being the most eclectic, mysterious one of the lot.

Ever since Majuular covered it, I've been particularly hoping for a translation of Cyber Doll - that game sounds gloriously bizarre even just going by its intro cutscene: Nostradamus! AIDS! No less than two separate supernatural muscle illnesses! Prosthetics-based immortality! It seems to have it all.

It's not as "sexy", but I like to see retranslations for 90s games where the original was weak. I am as excited for the Terranigma retranslation as a first time translation of The Hybrid Front, as an example.
