Nintendo DS (the first and last Nintendo video game console I bought). I just needed a video game console I can carry and play new games around, man. Otherwise as a SEGA fan boi I wouldn't even touch a Nintendo rubbish even with a 10 KM stick lol. I'm still ashamed by my decision but desperate times calls for desperate measures lololol. But as soon as $only released PSP I bought it and threw NDS out of the window with its games lol.

For me, it was the original Game Boy, in a striking shade of red.
I forget now, as it has been some time, which game I received with it, since it was a gift.
However, I do remember spending a great deal of time with The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages for the system.
I believe that, aside from those titles, along with Tetris and Metroid II: Return of Samus, they were the only games I genuinely played. Most other titles did not hold much interest for me at that point in time

Also the Polystation was my first console but as it was a famiclone it doesn't count for me because it's Unofficial/Pirate.

NES Action Set , Christmas of 87. Tho I had Mickey Mousecapade and Zelda: Adventure of Link a couple months before getting the console. I was at Aurthr's Toys in Fresno (RIP - an awesome toy store. It's a huge Asian grocery store today) with my Grandma (who I miss very dearly) to look at Transformers and they just got their first shipment of NES stuff. Pre87, NES was basically unatainimum in Central Cali. A friends of my Moms, had ROB and Gyromite and I always wanted it, but never got it.

I remember being a very young kid wanting an Atari and being told no, because it would make the color on the TV stop working and we didn't have and black and white TVs.

My first handheld Nintendo console was the original game boy, but my first home system wasn't until the game cube launched quite a bit later on.

I had some friends who owned N64s but they were relatively rare in my friend circles growing up cus everyone seemed to be hype over the PS1 more than the N64, probably cus the ps1 had more "edgey teen" vibes and that's what you think is cool when you're 6.

funny thing, my mom thinks every console is "el Nintendo".
