For me the first light gun shooter game I've ever played is obviously this one:

Duck Hunt (FC, 1984) 🦆🦆

But I played it on a Famiclone called FunStation through the 9999999-in-1 which is common to find this game In these multicarts and for some reason it has the copyrights removed but still the game is 100% official and also that the mode like (C - Clay Shooting) comes separately and leaving only Mode A and B (1 Duck & 2 Ducks) in the normal game in the multicarts although there are several multicarts that they count with the 3 game modes in the entire game.

Both Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt are the first FC/NES games I've played through a Famiclone called FunStation, which was a Famicom but with a PS1 Slim case.
Had this cartridge when I was a baby and could barely sit up on my own, I liked Duck Hunt too but hardly excited for it as I was for Mario.

I don't think I ever discovered the mirror trick until I got older, like around my 20s (though I'm sure I heard about it sometime in my teen years) but I never liked the idea of cheating. It's also not that hard of a game, so I don't see the point. 😅

Duck Hunt was the first console light-gun game i remember.
I also remember an Arcade cabinet that had a Uzi shaped light-gun attached infront of the screen, that was the first light-gun game i experienced. Still can't remember the name though.
I played Duck Hunt in my childhood and it looks good although The arcade game of light gun in the form of Uzi I think you mean Operation Wolf or some other?

Thats what i want to say too. I know it was made before the NES in 86 and it sat next to an original Punch-Out machine. and I was 3 or 4. always had to waste a quarter in it!

Would the Wii count? I don't remember having any shooting game anyways, but the remotes do work very accurately to a real light gun gameplay (just some gun shaped handles and that's perfect).
I think the Wii Light Gun Shooter also counts, Friend.

It wasn't my first, but I remember when this showed up to the old local Pizza Hut.

My first thought went to Time Crisis until I opened your post and saw Duck Hunt lol
That would definitely be my first and only light gun shooter on that system.

I understand you friend and also that Duck Hunt was a light gun shooter game that marked the childhood of many players because of how addictive it was to shoot ducks 🦆🦆 or clays 🍽️🍽️.

yeah, duck hunt was my first but the one that made me fall in love with the genre was time crisis and Point Blank

Time Crisis will always have a special place in my heart. Duck Hunt is a really good pick too.

The Time Crisis of the Arcade version is a good and challenging game, although the PS1 version is fine for a port created from scratch of the Arcade, but it is more difficult than the Arcade in my opinion because of the limit of continues, and if you continue you start the level from the beginning, unlike the Arcade version where you continue at the same point where you lost your life packs or when you run out of time.
