Hii gamers! ::angel

A couple of weeks ago I started watching the first seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh! And well, that's why I started to feel an immense desire to play the first GBA games.

That's why I'm looking for your honest opinion.. anyway, I say goodbye and thank you for reading, bye! ♥

The best by which metric?
The ones with the most recent card sets on GBA were:

Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship Tournament 2005 and
Ultimate Masters: World Championship 2006.

If you're after the authentic GX experience, you have Duel Academy.

There are a lot of YGO games for GBA, if you are looking for a Duel Monsters experience, I would personally recomend Worldwide Edition and 7 Trials to Glory for the games that follows the card game a bit better. But if you want something more anime inspired, Sacred Cards is a short neat game to experience that.

For GX, I find the games a bit more repetitive, but I personally still like Duel Academy.

But for real, if you don't need the game to be specifically for GBA, my favorite Duel Monsters themed game is Nightmare Troubadour for NDS, in that game you even have playable versions of all the God Cards, which most of the games I mention lacked.

I hope you have fun playing YGO!

I haven't seen the entire GX series yet, but there are several cards from the anime that I want to try on gba

I hope you have fun, in any case!
It's worth noting that both the DS and PSP have great entries as well, should you decide to check out other systems.

Thx, I'll keep that in mind :)

I don't have much practice playing Yugioh, but I am interested in learning and they told me that to understand the game better I should start with the basics and that's what I will do

You can feel free to PM me if you'd like to review some fundamentals. I too learned mostly out of interest when I was ushered by a friend to learn it.

Hm... speaking strictly of consoles I'm afraid you won't have too many options. Until somewhat recently, YGO really blossomed on portables.

yeah i mean incudling retro consoles like psp gba etc
Hm... well the answer is going to depend a bit. Do you have a preferred series? certain games center mostly around them, so it can change the experience.

maybe with actual yugi as the main char?
dont know and dont care about newer characters

In most games you are a custom duelist actually, and Yugi is a possible adversary. Off the top of my head only Forbidden Memories (PS1) and Duelist of Roses (PS2) have you actually playing as Yugi.

The only PS2 game you play as Yugi is Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum, a cool game based of the Capsule Monster game from the early chapters of the manga. Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses also on PS2 lets you take the side of either Kaiba or Yugi for a weird board game approach of the Forbidden Memories format. They are both good games, but can take a while to get used to and don't really scratch the itch of playing regular YGO.

On the PSP, unfortunatelly there are only GX and 5D's games that are playable. A Arc-V Tag Force with a DM campaing do exist, but the fan translation is actually atrocious, so your only hopes of playing it is if you know japanese or brazilian portuguese (we have a decent translation for the game)

Quoting my old response for the OP:

None of those games you play as Yugi, but he is an opponent you can face and sometimes a partner that follows you around in the case of Sacred Cards. They are all good games, but if you really want an awesome Duel Monsters game you should look into the NDS for Nightmare Troubadour:

In that game you play the Duelist Kingdom, Battle City and Virtual World arcs. Once again, you don't play as Yugi, but the plot is pretty much what you would expect and Yugi is a character you can face.

Close. You do play as Yugi on FM, but Duelist of the Roses you are your own character (the starter deck is even based of your name), Yugi is a possible side you can choose at the start of the war.
