What is an RPG that you hope grows on you?

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, I remember trying out the remasters on a cousin's ps5 and just being really bored of the whole thing. Nothing really hooked me into the game loop or the world, but I've heard they're very good RPGs. They also look right up my alley, so I just hope that when i played them, I wasn't in the right mind space
Narratively, they're amazing. But they are very crunchy and punishing if you don't learn the system.

We have the remasters on Switch and I found it to be a nice handheld game here and there. You'll definitely burn yourself out. I think I got about halfway through the second one after beating the first, before I had to take a break.

I've tired Origin, Oath, and VIII. To be clear I did not dislike any of them at all, but I also didn't finish them. I think there's something about Ys' storytelling/presentation that doesn't fully grab me. But I'd like to give them another try someday.
Ok fair enough, it might just be something about the game for you then.

I really wanna start liking Witcher 3 eventually. I think the Arabic sub would help.

Suikoden I and II. I played Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (which is supposed to be just like Suikoden) last year and loved it until I found out that I needed to play annoying mini-games to recruit all of the heroes. PLUS - If you didn't recruit all heroes, you'd get a bad ending. I was close to the final battle when I found out and just stopped playing. No way they're going to get me to play those awful top spinning games! I really hope Suikoden doesn't have forced mini-games.

Odin Sphere. I got it on sale digitally for PS3 years ago. The PS2 Classics version. I might just try it over from the start again. It just felt lacking and kind of frustrating. It's not the first side scrolling RPG I've played. But it was one of the least fun.
Absolutely get Leifthrasir. From what I've heard it fixes a lot of the original's issues, most of them to do with the combat. It's REEEEEEEALY good.
