What if square enix made a final fantasy game that is only focused on horror? what it look like? (Excluding parasite eve, koidelka, etc.)

I didnt play FF8 to get to this part yet (because of the junction system) but this is one of the rarest moments when final fantasy goes horror, what if square enix take this part of the game and made a full rpg horror game in the final fantasy universe.

Final Fantasy 8 is almost a horror rpg and fits well with Halloween. I always found these witch fights scary.

For me final fantasy vii is more light with its horror than the following game.

Also, Chrono Cross had some minor horror elements to the game as well.

Horror has been a part of Final Fantasy since the early games in the franchise, but I think they started to really bring it out more around the time of Final Fantasy 6, when things that were not just scary/creepy enemies started appearing more in the game; story elements or aspects of horror that they drew on more like Terra being mind-controlled, Cloud having his mental thing happen, etc.

The scariest thing in that game is the Falls Basin/Mines freeze glitch where the music stops and the game hard-locks.

Man, I'd love it if they did, but sadly I think Koudelka and Parasite Eve are the closest we'll ever get.

I do really like those games, though. Wish they were a little more accessible to the general audience bc they're both such a vibe.
