The original NES version IMO is still the most difficult due to it's propensity to spawn an enemy where you're standing and cut frames that lets the enemy get away with things they can't compared to the arcade. It's one of those games where some luck is involved to 1cc clear it legit. Shadow of the Beast - Amiga. I liked the game's art direction and music so much, I played this game again and again, never mind it doesn't let you continue and gives you a 5 minute restart between games (on an actual Amiga).
