So I have the problem that I have many consoles I know how it sounds lol,but I mean I don't know on wich Console for Collecting I should focus on as I am not rich enough to focus on all of them.
Here in order from most Games to least Games in my Collection
Ps2 (only have a non Modded Pal version)
Ps3
Xbox360 and Ps4 pretty much the same amount
PSP (Works fine enough despite the Battery getting empty despite being turned off)
Wii (Barely have any Games for it)
Nintendo DS ( I don't collect for that Right now as I would have to buy a new one )
Also mind you my limit is probably 20€ or maybe 25-26€ normally after a couple of months for my Hobby.
I could collect for the Gamecube also but damn it gotten to expensive for me ::nervous-prinny

Oh yeah I heard that Xbox360 games most of them at least go for pretty cheap now.
but the Ps3 with some exceptions and even the Ps4 are not to far behind in terms of pricing depending on the game of course.

With that exploit, you can turn it into an emulation station.
I know but I need for it a Free USB stick and well not messing it up ::sailor-embarrassed like I did with my Linux Laptop
I would love to Mod but I am to scared to mess anything up and having to let it be repaired very expensively.
If I could and would have the money I just would pay someone to do it as I was never a Tech Guru ;)

PS2 and PS3 games go for cheap and are widely available on the web. Lots of hidden gems, too.
Ps3 go pretty cheap most of the time with exceptions like Demon Souls :(.
I tried to collect more for the Ps2 but that can get expensive.
Especially Klonoa 2 the game I never will have.
But sure there are still some gems that go for a good price ;)
I also hate that some Classics are not playable for as I have a Pal Ps2 and Games like Tales of Abyss are only Japanese and American making it unplayable for me even If I import it.

I can understand that like tearing the sticker off your console & voiding your warranty type of deal.

PSP has a great library. I find collecting for handhelds great fun so I'd lean in that direction. Handheld gaming is all the rage right now. PSP can be hacked to do all kinds of cool things too.
I was such a stupid kid I never updated nor gone online with that thing ::sailor-embarrassed And now the Store is down.
But yes it has some Great Games on it not that I would own them besides Medievevil Resucrection and Pursuit Force and Burnout Dominator.

Better open it up and check that battery. Wouldn't want to have a fire hazard around.

As far as collecting games goes I think I'd actually recommend Xbox 360/PS 3. It was the last decent console generation and the games aren't ridiculously expensive. For now.

The only thing I don't like about the Xbox 360 is that I'm not sure how much you can do with it offline.

Enough the Store Obviously doesn't work anymore but there are many Offline Games that are pretty fun.

Collecting for collecting's sake is a fool's errand. If you don't have one that's calling out to you, don't. Just get games you like on each. Or don't, not having a bunch of stuff sitting around is pretty great too.

Honestly bjork is absolutely right.
Youll be like me having so many games its hard to think ill ever have time for all of them. You are better off just buying the console and running a softmod on it.

Sure collecting just for the sake of collecting is a fools errand but it also feels likes a waste to have barely any games on some of my Consoles besides many of the Consoles I own have great games I ain't owing that are worth collecting for.

No one's saying not to collect things you like. But polling a crowd on what you should do isn't the way. Pick the stuff you like. Pretty easy.

Not quite in that Case as I only listed Consoles I am interested in otherwise I would also have Included the PC or the ps1. but those consoles I listed I am certain that I want to add some games to my collection but I am just not quite sure on wich one I should focus on.
Maybe the ps3 or Xbox360 but I also want to collect for my WII as its a wasteland in that regard but WII games tend to bit more expensive at least the better once.
For Example I got in one purchase much more Xbo360 Games compared to the Wii games I got over many years.

It is easy. You can't buy everything, or else you'd just do that. So again, pick the stuff you like. Try this: if you have to think about a game purchase for more than 30 seconds, you don't really want it. If you still can't decide, do a best 2 out of 3 on a coin flip. Unless you're attempting to beat prices going up on a specific title or console, game collecting takes a very low amount of effort and planning.
