Anime What can one expect from watching the Fate/stay series for the first time?

I know about the visual novels, since it was around the time I learned about the Higurashi/Umineko visual novels and the lore surrounding them. So, I was simply wondering what is the best (or memorable) part about the Fate series for you. All responses are welcome.

Most Memorable? I mean:

All joking aside.

The original VN, is one of the best VNs ever made, although not a true kamige, it saved Type-Moon and put it on the map (back in the day). It did what Tsukihime didn't.

The biggest appeal of Fate, is for us history nerds, just to see what they do with historical characters, although the theme of the series, is pretty much contemplation of what it means to be a hero.

IMO, not taking into account the og VN, peak Fate, is Fate Zero, Why? Kiritsugu, yeah that's it, although I have a big soft spot for Hollow Ataraxia as well (cause my boy Avenger is fucking awesome), but that one is never getting an anime anyway.

Whatever one you wanna go with, is fine, BUT, stay as far away from Grand Order as humanly possible.

Nostalgia for a different era of nerd culture, both offline and online, disregarding the quality of the show as a whole, the first anime is a cultural touchstone from that era of Japanese nerd culture and it's worth watching just for that if that's something you care about, the VN itself is quality chuuni cheese that will live forever in one form or another, it's not exactly my favorite VN but the hype moments are still hype even today.
