When i was younger with more free time than now, i used to have a lot of consoles and PC like many of my friends. I didn't had any particular taste in games i remember we used to play anything from Visual Novel, RPG, Action, Adventure to Hack&Slash and Strategy. Anything and everything was seem to be fun but now with Work, Relationship, PETS and Gym my time is limited so i am a bit more picky in what i give my focus.

My fav gaming genres and themed games now are: Anything Mecha or Feudal Japan yeah BUSHIDO MECHA in two words.
Playing stuff i really like gives me an extra boost to give my time in a videogame OLD or NEW doesn't matter.

Please leave a comment what games you play now in your Life, games that actually you give your time and you grind NOT games you used to play.

Thanks a lot i will read them all, i enjoy my time in this FORUM and i sense a lot of people with culture and same interests as me.

Blazblue Entropy Effect. I don't like rogulite games but I'm addicted to this one. Probably because of the Blazblue characters and crazy combos. Also they added Icey, which is awesome

I’m more into JRPG’s nowadays some 3rd person shooter and stealth games with a little mecha games every now and then.

How about a stealth games where you play as a mecha hiding beind buildings ? ::biggrin

Currently replaying Nioh 2, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and Doom 64 through GZDoom on and off.

I generally like game genres with high skill ceilings, high player expression, or that reward high skill or execution, like Fighters, Character Action, Retro FPS, Shmups and other arcade genres etc. Though I enjoy a good RPG from time to time as well. I'll give just about anything a fair shake though.

Obscure Psx and snes point and click and survival horror games is what I’m interested in.but I occasionally play The sims 2 on DS and klonoa is a go-to for when I feel like I’m having a good day.

I actually can't decide what to play and most games I had already started I am not feeling like it. So I am back to Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and unmodded GTA IV.

These sound interesting. What PSX/SNES point & clicks would you recommend?

I'm current playing GTA IV and playing with some mods. I am also playing kula world and no fear downhill mountain biking on my phone on ps1.
Is there a specific GTA IV mod you would recommend?

Been playing lots of stuff recently on my Steam Deck. Finished Days Gone and today I finished the early access of Tokyo Xtreme Racer. Which made me return to my run of Racing Lagoon on my main PC. Currently on night 7. Meanwhile I am doing another Dank Souls 3 run, No Mans Sky and Car Mechanic Simulator 21. I also do some quick Heroes 3 games here and there. I wish I had more free time tho. I have 9-6 job and 3yo kid :\

Nowadays I mostly play card games, usually Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel or Dueling Nexus
Other than that I play a lot of shooters with friends, Marvel Rivals has filled a large Team Fortress 2 shaped hole in my heart lately
I also really enjoy psychological horror games and RPGs (when I have the time for them, but as you mentioned its been a little difficult with life in the way as we get older)

Today I have been playing DOA 2 and Ninja Gaiden Black on Xbox, is hard but is one of those cases where I can't get angry with the game because a lot of my deaths are my fault.

right now I'm replaying Bayonetta, Katamari Damacy, and Point Blank DS. I usually try to juggle 3 shorter (18 hours or less - ideally less) games at a time, as investing all of my time and energy into a single game has negative results; working towards the end just so I can play something else... it always makes me hate the final stretch of any game. So being able to rotate - playing a couple hours of x one day, 20 minutes of y the next - keeps me sane.

Do I have a favorite genre? Some kind of game I actively seek out? Well, I really try and play a lot of different genres, and playing videogames is also a big part of my job?? so it's always sorta weird trying to figure out when I'm playing something just to play it, and when it's actually secretly research. BUT I think by-and-large I'm either looking for simple, LOUD, arcade action, or otherwise slower paced, atmospheric adventures.

Prolly Clock tower or D,I’ve been having a lot of fun playing those on a chill night

I'm currently only playing Forza Horizon 5 and Overwatch 2
I can't say I have a favorite genre at the moment, but puzzle or older arcade games are always fun to go back to

I don't have favorite genre, if it's fun, I play.

Right now I'm catching up on the translated Boku no Natsuyasumi on PS2, also Forza Horizon 4 because I'm too poor to buy 5. Oh and Wrestling Empire on Switch in my off-time.

At office during break I'm currently finishing Tales of Hearts R on Vita.

Every night before bed I play VN, currently reading Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road.

Currently playing:

Trails of Cold Steel
Xenogears (had this one on hold for about a year as my old save got corrupted and had to re-play a lot)
Persona 5 Royal
FFXIV
Piofiore: Fated Memories

I tend to go for JRPGs as those are my jam. ::agree

If I really had to choose I would say action games and beat-em-ups of the belt scroller category, now that I'm free from my fighting games addiction.

Not playing any game of the genre currently though, probably going back to either SoR4 or Final Fight soon enough.

My favorite genre since I was born in the late 80s has been Fighters, particularly 2D, and I can say it still is! I play online often either on PS4, FC2, or Steam. Besides that I've been getting into 8-bit Platform games.

I'm picky when it comes to RPGs, because of course time restraint/management these days, Action oriented games like Ys series are top priority. But I do play the occasional Shoot'em up can't pass that up ? ⚔️

Arcade/snes beat'em ups (C&D, Sailor Moon, Final Fight and Rushing Beat series) that I play with my son on a linux multi-system console, old ms-dos fps games (Duke3D, Doom, Quake, Descent, Hexen) that I play on a blue DSi, snes rpgs that I play with snes9x on a PSP and Alicesoft's adult anime rpgs that I play on tablet. ?

Right now I'm trying to be regular at Konami's eFootball, at least playing 1 or 2 matches per day to get as many rewards as I can in order to get a competitive squad. The game was an incomplete disaster since its first years of launch and now seems its getting better with new mods of playing and more interesting rewards without need of doing the checkout to buy trading cards, so let's see how far can they improve the game for a non-gambler guy like me... :cautious:

And in the rest of time that I devote to videogaming, I peck some retro and neo-retro games, like the Castlevania Advance Collection (currently at the reviled Vampire Kiss or Akumajou Dracula XX of SNES), competing in some matches in Tetris Effect when the online sharks are not around (the matchmaking is terrible), and searching by nice websites like this to complete my old roms collection, hoping to find a new translation or improvement which makes me want to play them again. ::eyebrows

So I could say sports and adventure are my current favourite genres at the moment.
