PS3 What are the best tricks to optimize Fallout 3's PS3 version?

My PC sadly won't run it
You sure?

I'd say, try it

Yeah, according to the signature, it's doable. The computer lacks a graphics card, but has enough memory to make up for it. I'd wager that if you turn down the graphics details, it could be possible.
There is actually this thread on steam with someone with a similar setup asking if their laptop can run it.

It asks for a geforce 6800 at least... a 2004 AGP graphics card.

Looking at benchmarks, the HD Graphics 620 is WAY superior.

I think you should try the PC version.

Don't get abducted by the aliens, growing up I never got to do that DLC because it would literally consistently crash every single time, even on completely different characters/ save files

The best advice I can give you is to rely mostly on auto-save and try to focus mostly on story quests to try to keep your save lean.
I thought it was the opposite tho

Believe me, if there was such a thing as tricks to optimize games on PlayStation 3, I would have already done it to optimize Drakengard 3

I thought it was the opposite tho
I know it is counter-intuitive, but from what I read in the comments, the auto-saves are the least affected by the glitch? It could be misinformation tho.

I wouldn't recommend anyone put serious time into most console Bethesda games. They are notoriously unstable. At least on PC if something happens and you get stuck, you can use the console commands to fix things.

I played FO3 on the PS3 back when it was still relevant, and the constant crashing later on in my save made it pretty much unplayable. It's not related to specific DLC's or anything, it's just the save file as people have said. I did the whole alien DLC without crashing during the whole thing. Eventually save bloat happened, and I couldn't play for more than 5-10 minutes without crashing. There's no fixing it once it happens.

Save yourself some trouble and just play it on PC. You can probably lower the settings as others have said and make it a playable PS1 version of FO3. I did similar with Oblivion when it came out, and they use the same engine.

Beware: There have been no replies in this thread for 90 days.
Keep that in mind when expecting a reply from the people on it,
