Hi everyone!

I'm looking for fun and engaging conversation games suitable for adults, whether for parties, small gatherings, or even team-building sessions. The goal is to break the ice, get people laughing, and spark interesting discussions without it feeling forced or awkward.

Games that work well with mixed groups or people who don’t know each other very well are especially helpful. Do you have any favorite go-to conversation games, card decks, or prompts that work?

Bonus points if they’re low-prep or can be played anywhere.

Would love to hear your suggestions!

I know this one, if you're thinking about doing stuff remotely...

Also, dunno if this is going to be useful, but I think you could try to build your own situated games and methods for socializing using this thing. Maybe using it to create something collectively is already a way of breaking the ice, then y'all could play the results as extended fun time! But it all depends on your context and intentions... :)

Can't go wrong with The Resistance or One Night Ultimate Werewolf, both are really simply social games with zero prep other than reading a few cards. Also Cards Against Humanity of course, the classic.

Over here we play Snake Oil or The Million Dollar Doodle & it's always a great time!

The Million Dollar Doodle is the GOAT though. You grab 2 cards, then draw a company/product logo out of it. Then you pass it around, & next guy has to name your company from whatever the hell he thinks your drawing is lol. Pass it around again and so on. The amount of stupidity that happens in this is unmatched.

Make your own games, let creativity be stimulated and stole some ideas, it can be a fun experience if you are interested on it and can use those people as playtesters.
I wrote a LARP game about improvised cooking that needs some adjusts, for example. I also like to play with my husband a game where we think about something specific, may it be a person, object or idea, and let the another player try to guess what is by asking questions until they win or give up, it's very flexible and doesn't need any specific rules and gamification, just simple fun. Yesterday we choose movies to guess based on his letterboxd. Other day I choose Hideo Kojima and we joked a lot about how the questions were made because later in the same round I asked something like "Is it an air fryer?" and then "Is it Kojima again?".
You can look for simple party games like people mentioned on this thread, those are great.
