In another post I asked about the best and essential Japanese Super Famicom exclusive games, which blew me away from all the recommendations I got, thank you very much y'all!, but what about GameCube games in general?, what are your top recommendations?, any kind of game will be welcome!. ^^

Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II Plus
Animal Crossing
Super Mario Sunshine (I know some folks hate this one but I like the setting)
Cubivore is interesting but I don't know about essential
There's also a WWF game where you murder a bunch of people in a warehouse as the story mode, and that's worth seeing if nothing else. Just can't remember... Day of Reckoning?

Tales of Symphonia, I don't give a fuck
Play it right now, infact
Get the Gamecube version if you want to see what the hype is about. Don't just stop playing after 5 hours, really get involved in that story.
Then you can decide whether you want to try one of the terrible ports, with all their BS extra content.

F-Zero GX was mentioned
I've always loved Custom Robo as well, but it's a little more repetitive
Metroid Prime 2 is still console locked to GC and Wii and is probably the best of the trilogy
Megaman Network transmission is by no means even a good game, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine
Amazing island and Gotcha force are both very strange and unique hidden gems worth trying.

edit: I can confirm thousand year door is also peak

Eternal Darkness, F-Zero GX, Tales of Symphony (the OG GameCube version has the unique trait of 60 FPS), Custom Robo: Battle Revolution (aka Custom Robo in the West), Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Cubivore, Star Fox Assault, Mega Man X Command Mission, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, Metroid Prime 1 & 2 (or alternatively, just get Trilogy for Wii), Mario Kart: Double Dash, Kirby Air Ride, Go! Go! Hypergrind, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (if you got a buddy), Def Jam: Fight for NY, Burnout 2: Point of Impact, Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, Spongebob: The Movie, Pac Man World 2, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Phantasy Star Online Episode I-III, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD, Ridge Racer Evolution, Puyo Pop Fever, Radirgy GeneriC, good god that's a lot of Resident Evil, Castle of Shikigami II, Sonic GEMS Collection (only way to play Sonic the Fighters, unfortunately), Sonic Riders, SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Super Monkey Ball 2, The last 2 Timesplitters games, Viewtiful Joe, Super Smash Bros Melee,

and most important of them all, Killer7

I forgot Gotcha Force was a GameCube game, I thought it was Wii

It blows my mind that Namco have fucked up Symphonia remasters not once, but twice by making them 30fps, among other issues. I heard that Tales of Graces F is also 30fps on Switch while the original Wii version was 60fps. Criminal how little Namco cares about this series, yeesh...

I loved Wave race Bluestorm growing up - think everyone else has most things covered! Oh and Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2 &3 both excellent games.

As others have said already, check out Tales of Symphonia for the best RPG on the cube, Animal Crossing for the vibes and if the stars align, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the journey it takes you and a few friends on...(need to do it on original hardware for the proper shared experience though, although I believe some mad lads have managed to emulate it and four emulated GBA's to go alongside it.)

Loved the Cube!
