What are some Good/Interesting Non-Pokemon Clones for GB/GBC?

Subject is basically the thread title though I guess GBA games can also be included too! I'm really curious about different "Pokemon Competitor" clone type games that either were decent or bring something unique to the table.. What are some of your favorites?

I think Azure Dreams can count, it has that mechanic of having a monster companion that will help you fight

Digimon .

But when it comes to Monster tamer games overall , its always a hit or miss .

Azure Dreams on the ps1 is one of those okay-ish ones . Everything looks really cool and the gameplay was straight forward but the monster-designs were good till bland and the actual game isnt fitting for a monster tamer game because its a rouge-like dungeon-crawler .

But i didnt played alot of those. Its either Pokemon for me or Digimon.

Dragon Quest Monsters started on the GBC and while the mechanics are not exactly the same as in Pokemon, the amount of monsters you can collect is so big you can even get the final bosses from the main series on your team.

Oh ya! I was a big fan of the old TRsRockin site (originally cause of Missingno. obsession!) & saw their article on the bootlegs...that said one of my first pokemon games was Pocket Monsters GO! GO! GO! (a smurf's nightmare clone from the dredges of ebay) so I was immediately curious!
