ICYW, It's the Strike from Gundam SEED. Specifically the Perfect Strike version, which includes the base MS and all three striker packs, plus parts to put all three packs together into the Perfect Strike pack.

Why did I buy it? Because, in all honesty, the Strike has to be my favourite lead Gundam from the franchise. Even if Kira Yamato upgraded to the Freedom after surviving the "Jesus Yamato" incident in "Flashing Blades", its versatility and strength is utterly unmatched, and it's just... really cool.

(ICYC, there are three variants of the Strike: the original, which was presented by itself with an original melee weapon called the "Grand Slam anti-ship sword" and needed you to buy an accessory pack containing the Skygrasper and Aile Striker pack to get the full experience, the Strike Rouge, which included the contents of both kits in the colour scheme of Cagalli's version, and the Perfect Strike, which is based on its appearance in eyecatches and the "Battle of Orb" arc in the HD version of Gundam SEED, where it's piloted by Mu La Flaga (tho it should be noted that the Perfect Strike has surplus figures of Kira from the original PG Strike, so you can display it with either Kira or Mu if you'd like).)

Good luck. That shit ain't no joke.
Considering I made my first, and only MGEX kit last year on my birthday, I find that since I doubt myself and I'm very cautious, that exercising caution when it comes to big, expensive Gundam kits for both Master Grade Extreme and Perfect Grade goes a long way. As I worried I was gonna break the LED strip on the MGEX Unicorn, I wound up being as cautious as possible when I was building it and when I went to fix the arms when I discovered I forgot a piece later that year. Same thing here: I sand down nub marks when possible, I handled the hands with tweezers when I went to activate their finger joints, and now I've done the feet, poseable hands and Beam Rifle (and I cut out effect parts for the Beam Sabers and Schwert Gewehr anti-ship sword from the Sword Striker pack).

When you are cautious, and you put your mind to it, your efforts pay off.
EDIT: Also, I actually began a rewatch of the Gundam SEED show (at least prior to "Lacus Strikes!", where the show goes to shit) once I began assembly and I'm enjoying it. Sorry, not sorry. I know it gets a bad rep from anitubers and UC die hards, but I just find it to be a damn fun show.

- Keep your working area clean and uncluttered; less mistakes and lost parts when doing so

- Do not assemble and paint on the same day for PGs (even for MGs but HGs are fine); you need to rest your focus and your hand if you want to paint well

Happy building!

Man I bet they are so good to build. I need to get a perfect grade, I only have some Master Grades and just two Regulare Grades. But still, this looks awesome man, have fun building it!

Jumped in at the deep end and just went deeper eh?

PG strike is a really nice kit tho. It's recent enough to really stand out in terms of design and details (Astray Red frame is still one of my fave PGs to this day and it shares the same base frame) and just looks cool and different from the lower grades, something earlier kits had difficulty standing out with. The Gundam mk2, zeta and even the GPO1 didn't look all that different from the MG when fully equipped, just bigger.

They've upped the ante since with the PG unleashed line but that only has the grandpa RX-78-2 gundam and very soon, the Nu gundam.

If I were to buy another PG... it would probably be the RX-78-2, either OG or Unleashed, or the Exia, the lead Gundam from the first season of 00. When it comes to premium grades like this and MGEX, one or two are more than enough, and the Nu is (sorry) set to be a £400 British Pound disaster that can't stand. So going for either the Gundam that started it all or for the pride of Celestial Being in the first non CE/UC-set show of the 2000s is my best bet.

The price of gunpla in the UK when paying direct is always a very tough pill to swallow. The newer PGs especially are absurdly expensive compared to their far east asia prices.

When I went to Tokyo in December and got my RG Freedom gundam scanned, I spoke to the guy operating the booth and when I told him how much gunpla was in the UK, I will never forget his face. It was a mix of bewilderment, shock and laughter. He couldn't believe how much we paid!!

Legs are done. I'm thinking Waist and body tomorrow, arms and head Saturday, Aile pack Sunday and so on and so forth.

Scratch that, I wound up doing the head today because why not?

Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm also sanding and panel lining the kit with Bandai sanding files and Gundam marker respectively. I wound up accidentally giving one of the legs an overdose of marker, but thankfully a cleaning cloth and isopropyl alcohol spray are handy when it comes to cleaning models. So I managed to fix it.
