One weird stuff I remember seeing when i was a kid, is this movie fom Turma Da Mônica, where she interacts with humans in a "space jam" style, you know. There is a creepy moment where she goes out of the drawing world and it's all just white, a big void... then there's also a parte of the story where Cebolinha and Cascão literally go to hell????????

Maybe we could make this thread a little exhibition and nostalgic reunion of the weirdest cartoons we remember!

Footrot Flats is a NZ cartoon written & illustrated by the late Murray Ball.
it started as a comic strip in the news paper in 1976 and became a very popular series,
and eventually an epic full length movie in 1986 called "The Dogs Tale"

(Full movie below)

here is a short music video from the OST by Dave Dobbyn
every New Zealander knows this song is basically our national anthem

Yeah... In Argentina we used to get a bunch of Belgium and English cartoons because of a special deal between Magic Kids, The BIG Channel, Tyco and some other companies. And they were great. Some of my favourites included:

Saint Seiya was popular in Latin America as well. There were quite a few Animes that got spanish dubs. Tekkaman Blade, Dragon Ball Z and Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin were shown Saturday morning in my area.
Yeah! I LOOOOVED our dubs. I remember being quite amused by the fact that some of the same people took over multiple characters, so you had Goku and Vegeta playing Sakuragi and Rukawa, too. It was great.

Actually, still is XD

I watched Inu Yasha when i was over in Italy with my family one summer. It was funny in Italian like the US dub.

I remember this Cocomiel in Brazil, but it was called Jojoaninha.

The 90s and early aughts were a treasure trove of weird, awesome cartoons... and, so, it was very hard to pick just one to headline this thread, but this is the first one that came to mind:

It's weird, and ridiculous, and heaps of fun.

What other weird cartoons do you remember?

I also remember MTV's liquid animation having a bunch of weird cartoons like the one with the guy with the big head. I think it was just called Head. And the precursors to what would become known as Adult Swim like Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. They basically took cells from old 70's cartoons that were kind of crappy and recontextualized them into a talk show and a comedic show about a Lawyer.

This thread gives me so many memories...

As for my pick, I'd say Invader Zim. To think nickelodeon got the guy that made johnny the homicidial maniac to make a kids show!

Oh, man.

Invader Zim was WILD.

I credit it for my deep-rooted need to yell "LIES!" and other random things whenever I get excited XD

Mtv was amazing then. I watched Liquid Television, Aeon Flux, The Maxx and The Head whenever I got the chance. I found the box set of Aeon Flux and Daria at a secondhand store a couple years ago and did not hesitate to grab them.

One fine day with a woof and a purr
A baby was born and it caused a little stir
No blue buzzard, no three-eyed frog
Just a feline canine little CatDog

Reminds me of another one i liked, Courage the Cowardly dog!
oh and Angry Beavers was good.
Cow & Chicken was a little too weird for me they need to draw some pants on that devil guy
I haven't watched those cartoons in years but I remember both of them.

"Return the slab or suffer my curse"
courage the cowardly dog 90s GIF

This one was super creepy to me as a kid.

Cow & Chicken was maybe odd since the mom & dad adopted a literal cow & chicken. I can't remember much about I Am Weasel, but maybe it was weird too.

Most of these cartoons are weird, but the weirdest for me is definitely those with Eldritch Horrors
I just love seeing those weird looking things that I can't understand

In case you weren't aware, this crazy flick recently received a remaster!
That's so awesome. Thank you for letting me know!

I only watched this weirdness when I was like 10 years old or something (probably even less). So it would be interesting to watch it again in HD. :)
