was zeromus (final fantasy 4) a big trouble to you?

Hoje eu zerei o FF4

Yeah, I remember him giving me problems too. Took a few tries to finally beat him (over the course of about 2 weeks because I kept rage quitting)

I don't think I ever had trouble with Zeromus, because by then I've pretty much killed all the optional superbosses 😅

I've only beaten the PS1 version of FFIV, and I did a tonne of grinding on the moon, and still got my ass beat by Zeromus. At around level 70 ~ 75 I beat him on my 2nd attempt with a whole lot of healing and some jammy luck.

Tbf, probably the hardest final boss of the mainline entries that I've played.

Nope

The Moon ruins has side bosses that will be hard AF, but if you suceed you will get a shower of EXP, mixed with the grinding i had to do to beat them in the first place, i kept the knife Yang's wife gives you, despite what it looks it has a chance of 9999ing if thrown, that, level 60 parties and the broken weapons i earned made him still hard but still satisfactory to beat

Only in the DS version really, granted I was like 12 and didn't know a lot of English back then but I do remember dying a lot, never played that version again so idk if he's really that tough there or I was just dumb

today i beat ff4
the only moment i needed grinding was in the final battle, cuz bro can just start spamming "big bang" which used to kill all my party in just one shot
what version were you playing?

Yes because ff4 was my first jrpg when I was like 10.

Actually I was stuck on the first of the four fiends on Mt Ordeals for months because I didnt know what grinding was. When tiny me realized I could just keep fighting things to keep getting stronger forever I ended up doing that to get through the rest of the game. A lot of the bosses were really tough because I didnt understand all the mechanics but eventually I learned. Great game, great memories!

Were you playing the original or the pixel remaster?

I really struggled with this boss fight for EXACTLY the same reason. I died so many times I went and read a guide for the original game to get tips on how to do it. The guide said I needed to be wary because "it may occasionally do a move called Big Bang, which is very powerful"

Occasionally!? In the remaster the boss spams it, may even do it twice in a turn! This made me think the pixel remaster was busted as it does this move waaaaay too often.

Luckily I was so over levelled I was able to full heal every turn and get 1 normal hit on the boss, so was able to grind out the win but yea, this boss is broken in the pixel remaster IMO.

(speaking of the DS version) Yup, had to level up everyone to 75. And all that just to be sure one could survive Big Bang. Needless to say the only 2 guys that could were Cecil and Kain.

I don't remember the fight itself for the most part, so I guess I didn't. I remember the dungeon itself being almost unbearably long. Only in the DS version I remember dying in my first attempt.

I don't remember it being too bad on SNES. There were a couple optional bosses I either struggled against a lot or just couldn't beat. I haven't gotten that far in the Pixel Remaster version yet, I'm looking forward to it though. I played halfway through the DS version and it was certainly harder than on SNES.

It's the hardest version for sure. When they ported that to PC, they included an easier skill level, which they labelled normal.

Thanks for motivating me to actually play the PR :loldog

I'm not kidding, I'm about to pop it in. Been meaning to play FF4 again lately.

I think it took me a few tries to beat him on the original snes version that was Final Fantasy II in the United States.

Yeah it was my first jrpg also and it is still my favorite Final Fantasy game to this day.

That's surprising. So far, from what I've played of the PR, it seemed the other most stupidly easy version of the game alongside the american SNES FFII. I guess I really got used with any other version that was always tough as nails.

I played the PS1 version "Final Fantasy chronicles" i beaten zeromus at around level 70ish , i fought him at lvl 55 and got clapped.

Then i went around got bahmut , king of summons and such then committed genocide on the dragon population in the few floors between the final room and the cave , finally i had all members above level 65 , kain was 69.

The fight started alright this is it! This is where it should end , time to make zeromus pay for all the suffering and death he caused! A long grueling fight would take place , edge throwing stuff , kain jumping , rydia using variety of summons and flare of course and rosa healing and casting light or whatever that ability was called , the party fought hard but all got downed eventually only Cecil remained to around 800 HP zeromus would cast meteor and my health would go from 800 to 80 on my knees that music going hard , it's now or never! One sword slash not dead....come on come on another sword slash....well what happened? What now...nothing is responding that "sound" is heard and zeromus starts dying out of sheer joy i jump out of my place and yell "YEEEEEES FINALLYYY" and so zeromus was beaten by a paladin on his last legs clinging to life like it's his last moment and so ended Cecil adventure.

This thread came at a the time i have Final Fantasy 4 victory theme as my notification sound
