With NESmaker... This was always possible.
Just do it. Try it. You know you want to.

I don't get any of this! Is that two NESes mating? And an old black phone playing peeping tom?
? ??‍♂️
That 'old black phone' is a 32x slotted into a Megadrive.

This information will not help you decypher the image.
Hope this helps!
(I think the suggestion is that it would be possible to link up two NES consoles to effectively construct an SNES?)

Ok, let me try to decipher this...
  • As the SNES controller have extra buttons, you can have the X, Y, R and L as input on a second controller
  • NES has an expansion port at the bottom. This means you can stack things, resembling an Sega Genesis 32X
  • There's a modern accessory I just learned about called the NES hub, allowing you to connect four wireless controllers to it
  • Is this cable that I circled connecting the top and bottom cartridge ports from two different NES? Are they... copulating?
  • Somehow, NESmaker has something to do with all of this

You can play on an Atari 2600 with a Genesis pad.

But what the hell is happening in there?

Think of super mario maker.
instead of designing the game with parts, enemies and power-ups, you are remaking the console, with hardware parts ;)

James bond in a hamburger costume.
jill sandwich, anyone?

Beware! This anthropomorphic feline deitiy might be inebriated by potent anthropomorphic feline inebriation substance! ⚱️??‍♀️

You hit the nail on the head. Nintendo released many specialized iterations and variations of both the NES and SNES. Many featured unique hardware configurations that are, in some cases, just two NESs or SNESs in one box (kinda like a cleaner Tower Of Power). I just find it strange that the retro community and rom hackers have not shown much interest in using the included features.

P.S.
The second image was more of a joke/troll (still very possible tho). I have to be careful with strange ideas like those... It would be very weird if somebody tried to make a NES and Mega Drive sandwich thingy.
