Here's another one I remember. Official on Console and Mod on PC.

This too with the fluffy manager.

Here's some more!
What are some other examples you can think of???

ctgp r and ctgp 7 are all great and then something which is more of a performance inprovement calico in webfishing

You can't just play Elder Scrolls games without modding a little, it's a crime at this point. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk once played with "Movement Plus" makes you almost incapable of playing the game in vanilla way, it simply is too addictive, it might even ruin the game for you

The game is already a masterpiece, but Super Mario 64. Just look at how many hacks are there, I love the shotgun one

I would've like Quake 1 campaign more, if the levels weren't so claustrophobic, and littered with environmental hazards. Thankfully, Arcane Dimensions fills in that void, better than original game!

SSSiyan's Collaborative Cheat Trainer for Devil May Cry 5. Lets you mod all the crazy tech from 4 back in, adds Legendary Dark Knights difficulty, and ADDS A WHOLE VERSUS MODE TO THE GAME. It's so good!

Skyrim's mods are great, although some are pretty irrelevant to the gameplay.
I also like some for Senran Kagura Estival Versus..

The whole Roll-chan hack series. Roll is so underused in the Mega Man series so I love getting to play as her :D

Someone made a patch for Final Fantasy II/IV for SNES that made Golbez a playable character. He's in one scene as an NPC at the end of the game. Always wanted to play as him. This patch made it possible.

that is very cool, and reminded me of playing Halo 1 on the OG xbox back in the day with an action replay. playing as an elite in Halo1 felt absolutely insane at the time. i love the little things like that, it could be as simple as a model/tile swap, that brings someone immense joy.

The Zelda 2 redux hack

Is in my opinion the definitive version of the game. I grew up with both Zelda 1 and 2 on the nes. I used to switch between the two of them when I played them and they were both equal to me as far as how much I liked them but the redux hack fixes everything wrong with the game and really lets all the great things about Zelda 2 shine.

It gets rid of every single tedious, pointless time wasting aspect of the game. It fixes the life system and changes it so it makes sense and works more intuitively for a Zelda game. It balances out enemies and the experience system. No more restarting at the Castle when you die in a palace. Tweaks to the magic system. Graphics and dialog changes to match things a little better to the rest of the series and have the game make sense.

What's left is a fun, challenging action-adventure platformer with exploration and fast paced combat that feels really satisfying when you start to get the timing down. It just shows how close they were to making a really good game with Zelda 2. With the refinements the redux hack brings it really stands up well with any of the other Zelda titles.
