Two versions of the same game?

Well it's just Ubisoft fucking with the video game industry so hard learning from his granpas!! Now Ubisoft has grown up so much they remove your games from your library to shit on the industry more!!! Ah, video game companies grow up so fast!!! lolol
Now we combine with Activision, EA and Blizzard who is the king of worse company.

I know that there were 2 different games called "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" on NES, one from Taito, and the other came out a couple years later published by Ubisoft, and the Ubisoft one that looks like the Genesis version.

I can't think of another example of two different games with the same title releasing on the same system. But something really funny that also happened to Prince of Persia is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which is actually three or four different games (depending on who you ask) with the same title on different systems. This was a common practice in the 2000s with licensed games and/or games that came out both for consoles and handhelds.

Spider-Man (Neversoft) and Spider-Man (Treyarch) both got Windows PC versions, in a short span.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent

It has two different versions: the Xbox version and the Xbox 360 version. In the OG Xbox, the game played the same as its earlier entries and has the same mission structure, whereas in the 360, there were some notable changes, like different missions from the OG, a different UI, and a hub area where you can either help the terrorist organization or sabotage their plans.
There's a YouTube video showcasing the differences between the two.

There's two different versions of Tetris on the NES. Completely different versions of the game. One is from Tengen and in a black cartridge, the other is from Nintendo and in the standard gray cartridge. Not exactly the same scenario but still interesting.

never knew that, I've only seen the upper one.

The OP seems to be interested in discussing updated releases of titles on the SAME platform. Shadow updates of games happened alot, especially between Platinum/Greatest Hits re-releases. The Cutting Room Floor documents alot of that. If we are talking about entirely different games on the same platform however? It doesn't actually count but I always found it funny that Stealth made a proof of concept homebrew port of Sonic the Hedgehog on Gameboy Advance that absolutely stomped the awful version Sega officially released for the Blue Blur's fifteenth anniversary.

With actual games themselves, It has already been mentioned how Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent was released as two entirely different games, depending on whether you were playing it on a sixth or seventh generation platform (atleast in hardware prowess anyway). Ironically, the A Team (Ubisoft Montreal) worked on the sixth generation version, with the OG Xbox version of Double Agent being arguably the best one to play.

The practice of platforms getting completely new versions of games was actually more commonplace than not until the fifth generation of gaming though, especially for tie-ins. I am sure alot of people would be quick to mention Capcom's Aladdin on Super Nintendo versus Virgin Games' release for Sega Mega Drive
