Alright folks, it is time to talk about toradora. At first i was reading the manga but at the time, it was incomplete so i switched to the light novels and read all of them in like two weeks, later down the line i watched the anime. I have to say, i've never had such a love-hate relationship with a series like this. I like toradora, i like the characters but at the same time i dislike it. The last 1/3 of the story made me feel like reading the novels was a waste of time, it's like the author forgot she had to get taiga and ryuuji together and shoved a lot of drama at the end. I like taiga, as a person she is awful, but there is good in her, too bad her character didn't get much development because the entire thing ended abruptly.

Anyway, what are your thoughts. I think that manga>novels>anime although i like more the art in the novels, there is something about them that the manga nor the anime manage to capture, although the later volumes of the manga have very good art.

It can be quite sad and emotional but still, it's pretty good. I kinda like Taiga, a bit of a brat but that's one of the reasons why I like her

I Haven't read the LN or manga, but i did watch the Anime
So from my POV, the Anime is a fun little series, tho like you said to much Drama toward the end, but still overall it was a fun series.

i honestly need to re-watch it.

read my username and see why it's my favorite anime lol, i'm happy and surprised to see toradora being talked about even after more than 15 years of its airing

the anime simply manages to involve comedy, drama and romance in the right measure, the characters are very good... Taiga has evolved enormously and her background makes you understand why her personality is the way it is. For me, it will always be my eternal love, so much so that I've consumed practically all the media available, watched the anime, read the light novel and the VN (very difficult by the way, but 100% voiced) and the manga (which, amazingly, is still in publication!).

The manga is somewhat of a mix between the anime and the LN. I don't exactly remember if the manga has them but the anime lacks ryuuji's internal dialogue to rationalize taiga's behaviour and the stuff that happens around him. An example of this is the part when
ryuuji tries to talk with minorin at the ski resort about the confession and his feelings but she starts talking about the drama with their friends. In the anime, it just looks like ryuuji didn't get to say what the wanted to say but in the novels, you can clearly see that he thinks minorin is bullshitting him and goes "yeah, whatever"

Still waiting for those scans of volume 12 :(

Its one of my favorite romance anime, maybe i should finally sit down and read the novels.

I personally prefer it when there is more drama. I still feel like Ami deserved some more screen time, cause to me she was the most complex side character, and i wanted more from her.

I only watch the anime, completely with you there, the last 1/3 had the director choking us with many drama stuff, which I'm not a fan off, overall is still a good romcom anime.
I'm rooting for Ami tho.

Toradora is my favorite romantic anime of all time. It's been so long since I've watched it it's actually kinda nostalgic for me. The manga will be soon coming to an end, I will be there when that moment comes.

Taiga is just too beautiful and perfect...

The manga really does have very nice art. The first volume has some panels that look kinda weird but later chapters look really good.
