Concluding the trilogy of Capcom articles, we’ve got this last top list. This time we would like to feature user feedback! Giving this piece a bit more zest.
Hilariously enough, this went through what I could only describe as development hell. That’s hyperbolic of course but it’s hilarious to call it that. It felt like the universe did everything in its power to make sure this article CANNOT come out, from things like really late dms, people I chatted with having unstable internet, ME having unstable net while in Saudi and so on… and so forth. I even got sick the moment I was uploading this piece. Insane.
Honestly, I’m fully capable of making this entire list just one giant Hyadain reference.
You mean to tell me that there’s a robot master based on a train, and nobody talks about him?! I love Charge Man, I love him with all my heart. He’s just a train, and that is amazing. Don’t you guys love trains?! I love trains. How can I not love this goofball? I already alluded to me being a fan of goofily designed robot masters. And besides, he actually contradicts his appearance by having one of the harder fights in the game. Mega Man 5 is a great game and severely under-appreciated. He’s definitely a highlight from it too! Need I mention Charge Kick is also the better version of Top Spin, which drains all your weapon energy? Sheesh!

Brilliant pick, and I agree with everything said here. I believe Shadow Man’s “coolness” factor often gets overshadowed by how hard he is as a bossfight and his stage theme being “unfitting”, a sentiment which I found laughable to have in a game franchise where you fight robots based on sheep. Besides, Shadow Blade is the cooler cousin of Metal Blade and no one can change my mind, and who doesn’t love aliens?

Cool callback! That game was incredibly unique. It’s quite neat that he does actually look like a Rider, in a way. His stage is surprisingly nowhere near as hard once you get the pattern down and to top it all off, he’s got some neat fan animations!

Beautifully said. Magnet Man is indeed… quite attractive, something which I won’t be shy to mention in a second.
And that’s all we have today!
Despite my general disdain for Inti Creates’ DWNs, Nitro Man is a standout for being almost the perfect Robot Master in how encompassing he is, being a Jack of all trades, master of all.
Having a fantastic design, boss fight, weakness and a beautiful sad theme song. I’ve been a big lover of him for over a decade now and he deserves way more love! His SNES remix is a must-listen.
Remix? We got one more actually!
Dust man is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful robot masters. For someone named after dust, he has a surprisingly elegant and clean design. Not to mention, he just seems pretty chill. Further emphasized by the cute little shrug he does before the fight, there’s not much I can say about Dustman. I wish I could properly put into words how beautiful he is, but words simply betray me here. He’s someone I just deeply resonated with.
The best way I can describe it is this, try your hardest to think back of your late nights playing classic games. With lights turned off, it’s past midnight, everyone is asleep, you have no school tomorrow and it’s only you and the bright gaming screen. The ambiance gets further emphasized and strengthened by all these external elements. And this isn’t me trying to tickle your nostalgia bone, this happened at a super late stage in my life so I still remember it pretty vividly. It was almost like a romantic encounter, love at first sight.
To be honest, this list doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is that I love Magnet Man. His design, it’s so beautiful. He is so chill yet so determined. No one stole my heart quite like him. No one allured and trapped me in this tale of unrequited love quite like him. Honestly, I don’t really care about any of this anymore because I feel I got a clear mission and that is to do everything in my physical and spiritual power to make Magnet Man my significant other. I’d resort to black magic if possible. I love Magnet Man so much.
Please marry me, Magnet Man.
But Firet, Some Housekeeping…

5- Flash Man
Finally an opportunity to mention Hyadain! Really, the only reason Fleshman is here at all is just so I can talk about Hyadain. He has a series of animated videos that are, and I kid you not, all about the robot masters in Mega Man 2 having a crush on Rock and telling their tragic backstory about it. It's both really adorable, and really damn hilarious, and to be completely honest, that’s the only reason Flash Man is even in here, otherwise I would pick Brightman over him in a heartbeat since he has the better weapon, and I do like goofier designs.Flash Back, Flash Back! How can I forget you, baby?
4- Charge Man

Now, a few words from our readers…

“My favorite Robot Master is Shadow Man. He looks cool, his Special Weapon is actually useful, his theme song is a banger, his level is fun, his fight is hard AF, and he's got the whole backstory of possibly being an alien robot. What else can I say?”

“Ok!
Here I go:
My favorite robot master from the classic Mega Man series is without a doubt Quick Man from Mega Man 2. Why, you may ask. Well, just look at his design.
The dude is basically a Tokusatsu hero! and also his role on Super Adventure Rockman, where he saves Mega Man's life at the end, cemented his way to become my favorite robot master of all time.”
Cool callback! That game was incredibly unique. It’s quite neat that he does actually look like a Rider, in a way. His stage is surprisingly nowhere near as hard once you get the pattern down and to top it all off, he’s got some neat fan animations!

Magnets are cool. Ninjas are cool. Therefore, Magnet Man must be the single coolest being in the entire Mega Man canon. Unlike other robot masters, he doesn't just use a weapon to defeat his enemies – his power of reverse-polarity exploits their very nature as mechanical beings, taking advantage of their forms' steel to disable, defeat, and destroy them.
Think of what happens when you wipe a magnet over a computer's hard drive. Now, think of the power someone doing that would wield in a world of androids. Magnet Man may seem cool on the surface, but be warned: beneath that mask lies the ability to manipulate body and mind alike. That's what makes Magnet Man the best robot master... positively.
Beautifully said. Magnet Man is indeed… quite attractive, something which I won’t be shy to mention in a second.
And that’s all we have today!
we now resume our usual programming.

1- Magnet Man
You’re under legal obligation to listen to this!
And this too!
Magnet Man, my absolute beloved. If my Dust Man paragraph sounded like a love letter, then this is a marriage proposal. What do you even want me to say? Where could I even start?! The backstory of how I came to love is not too dissimilar to that of Dust Man so I’ll save the details of that, except I’ll say that it was somehow EVEN stronger. I became instantly enamored by the guy. His mesmerizing design, his psychedelic boss pattern, his enchanting weapon, combined with the boss and stage theme, it was like a psychedelic dreamlike experience. Utterly engrossing. Absolutely nothing like it. The perfect moment at the perfect time.To be honest, this list doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is that I love Magnet Man. His design, it’s so beautiful.
