That deck is sick as fuck. Every time i see a skate again i want to return to skating lmao.
But people that like skate games of all sorts are eating good these times, we had Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which is one of the best games i ever played, we will get another Jet Set Radio, and now more THPS

You should, it’s fun, unless you have a condition which prohibits skating lol

Ah, fair, if it’s just balancing and skating you could always use auxiliary aids and equipment as those exist for cruisers and whatnot.

Or you could use tech decks, granted, I get it, at-least you can experience the love of skating through video games!

I'm concerned. It's not Vicarious Visions. I want to have nothing but positive vibes, but VV nailed 1+2 so perfectly that I really hope this is not just Iron Galaxy slapping chewing gum on top of their work.

I'm almost certain there's going to be A LOT of licensing issues with the 3+4 soundtracks, since the originals only had about 10-12'ish songs; but one of the huge features once it hit the PS2 era was the staggeringly large soundtrack. AC/DC will not be a cheap one, and unless we get Bam back or depending on how his relationship is with his brother, we may not get any CKY.

The announcement hits right, it's a good trailer, but once you think about all of the smaller cracks to fill you'll be a little more concerned. So many people/rights holders in the wood works have just been waiting for this moment to cash in and attempt to leverage huge payouts based on this franchises staying impact/popularity. Then there are a few who don't even want to be remembered for being associated with "that skateboarding game."

Couldn't ask for better news! Here's hoping the soundtrack will be as killer as it should be.

Fingers crossed it's as good as the last remake; I know it's a bit tiresome seeing everything re-released, but that was a pretty exceptional compilation. Really, just adding the re-vert in for the first two games stages opens them way up for more lines and combos.

I am curious about them adding new levels for this edition though, like, it makes me wonder if this is as close as they can get to making a new game.

While I didn't love THPS4 like I did 1-3 and 2X, I can't believe this doesn't include the THPS4 campaign. Disappointing to hear.

this gai, will take the hype, into the next levels, when he appears in this series

If it plays as well as 1+2 it‘s gonna kick ass for sure, but as others have mentioned there are some cracks in that shiny facade like the missing campaign mode of 4, the likely lack of a sizeable chunk of the soundtracks. I consider the developer an unknown quantity too. Another thing that irks me (which is more of a general problem with contemporary gaming) is how much cool stuff is pre-order or deluxe edition exclusive. The original games were super generous with unlockable content. I don’t think this is going to be a large game in the first place considering how streamlined the content of 4 is going to be so I definitely won’t be buying this until it hits sales even if it turns out to be an incredible game.

It's a shame they're doing no proper campaign for 4, but it's more than likely the situation of someone up top saying "you have $500 to make this game if you want to do it." I'll wait for more reveals before I even consider putting money down on it. But this is more than likely the compromise we'll have to make for having a second chance at THPS even being a thing nowadays.

We wanted 3+4, and the monkey's paw curled.

Yeah, the complete lack of a campaign in 4 kills it for me.
I was always more of a fan of the TH games that had a fully-fledged story mode over just arcade style anyway, and my PS2 is still hooked up to my TV, can't see why is bother with this remake to have a worse experience with some prettier lights on.

1+2 is a great remaster that had the unfortunate luck to be released right when Covid spreaded far and wide. I won't even hold my breath for this to be even half as good as what VV made.
