what is your thoughts on satellaview+
We were used to catching TV shows at specific times so those restrictions where nothing that wild, and there was no online gaming like today at the time. Sega's earlier modem services and the Satellaview where ahead of their time and probably seemed cool to whoever had access back then.Satellaview is Temu internet.
Edit: But seriously, it sucked really hard. It only worked during specific hours in the afternoon and you could only play the satellaview games while the signal was active.
This is a retro place, we don't know much about such new stuff. All I know about Discord is what some parents told me: Kids cut each other and stream the video live online and it's a great place for criminals to fool the kids to kidnap them and use Discord for various crimes lolol. Because of it politicians from many countries wanna either ban Discord or enforce that only adults and "old enough teens" can use social media lol. Naturally it make me imagine a website like Reddit but not so public chatroom. The nature of how a "forced member-only system" it can be makes it somewhat bad as the dark web lol.Guys I think he's talking about the Satellaview+ community on discord and it's efforts on bringing it back in the current year.
My opinion didn't change. It's just some wannabe Nintendo rubbish because they always kept stealing ideas from SEGA lololol. We can't read minds and cannot have any idea if people made a typo or something anyway lol.Gotta love RGT users having so little reading comprehension that they talk about the original Satellaview when they're being asked about the Satellaview+.
Dude I just use Discord to talk to my online friends like with Skype not sure what you're on aboutThis is a retro place, we don't know much about such new stuff. Normally I'd agree because no one here reads the threads but the original post is literally 6 words long and gives no context. If you don't know about that specific niche project that is named after a better known thing but with an added "+" you're going to assume he's talking about the better known thing. That's why he needed to give context. "Guys there's this revival project for the Satellaview called Satellaview+, bla bla bla, any thoughts?"Gotta love RGT users having so little reading comprehension that they talk about the original Satellaview when they're being asked about the Satellaview+.
Ask it to parents not me lol. To them Discord is a horror story that came into reality lolol.Dude I just use Discord to talk to my online friends like with Skype not sure what you're on about

I do hope we could recreate the story, or make a new one. For now, with our current tools, it would be very difficult. Maybe one day, when we are able to add custom NPCs and such in the hub.The post certainly is rather vague, but if you're not sure, why not Google the term? I know about it largely due to watching a DidYouKnowGaming video on the Satellaview that covered Satellaview+ at the end of the video. I appreciate the reminder since I intended to check it out and forgot. The comments about Satellaview being nothing but a Sega Net imitator seem a little ignorant. From what I've learned it had an ongoing storyline with the interactive town that served as the central hub of the service. Seems like it would have been fun to experience at the time, makes me curious if Satellaview+ is going to try to recreate it or perhaps go in a different direction.
Ancient Stone Tablets is one of my favorites SNES games ever! Wish it would get a proper re-release.. Doubt it as it is in licensing limbo (who owns St Giga content today?). They were able to resolve issues with SM RPG, so maybe? I am kinda shocked N didn't do something like this with the Switch. With what the internet what it is today, seems like this is a missed opportunity...I'm gonna be biased because I work for it but I'd say it nice. You chat with people in the server, play games, listen to music every Thursday to Sunday through SoundLink+. The service is getting new games pretty often and there are frequent-ish events. It's till very far from the actual Satellaview but one day it would be something pretty cool, especially when the magazine tool is finished.
Edit: How do people either talk about Satellaview (instead of Stellaview+) or the fact that people do not know what Satellaview+ is. Nobody talks about the topic of this post.
First, I'm sure Nintendo owns all of the SNES games exclusive to Satellaview since they owned 50% of St. GIGA, they just do not care much about them (they literally miswrote Satellaview when they introduced the BS-X tracks to F-Zero 99).Ancient Stone Tablets is one of my favorites SNES games ever! I LOVE the concept of this, but because most of not all the current details of it are hidden in discord, it is something I will NEVER consider using... Discord has its place (ie: its an amazing team chat / video app), but, It feels like everyone wants to use it for things that something like a forum makes 1000x more sense for. Tring to search for things is near impossible and when you ask the question instead, people get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. As an existing user of a service, it kinda works for incremental updates, but for new users, they are lost in a maze of what's the current anything or how to do a new setup (MiSter suffers horribly from this)...
