Those Games You Play When You Don't Know What Else To Play

For this kind of stuff my go to is usually a Relaxing Plug n Play type of Games.

For example Farming Game like Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley etc.

Or just mindless slaughter in Open World Game like GTA, Sleeping Dogs, or CyPunk2077.

Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. I keep meaning to try and beat the current lap record for the Boonta Eve Classic (currently it's 0:01:57.559 by Wouter M. Jansen according to SDA) but I'm afraid that would kill the whole "vibe play" relationship I have with the game. Call me weird.

Setting up whatever n64 emulator is the most functional at the moment to play F-Zero X or 8lasting through the first couple levels of doom.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
Hotline Miami 2 (the amount of custom made levels are ridonculous)
Terraria. Whenever I want to build another penis tower or swastika building.
Silent Storm. I replay it like every 2 years, my target is to beat it with every recruit from both sides.
Sword of the stars The Pit. This one is very long rouglike
Shop Titans.
Bejeweled 3. My most prize steamgifts win.
Adventure Time: Hey Ice King/Secret of the nameless Kingdom/Let's explore dungeon/Finn&Jake Epic quest. I REALLY love early AT

I tend to like playing very arcade-y games that I can play in short bursts when I'm not sure what to do. I usually fire up Crazy Taxi when I'm really bored. Either that or I'll hop on a multiplayer shooter like Overwatch or Marvel Rivals for a match or two.

Probably Tony Hawk, I play a lot of THUG. It's one of those comfy titles where I can just mess around and do silly things, but also snap into a flow state when the mood strikes.

I've actually started to play Crazy Taxi again since I found out an arcade not too far from me has a cab. It's a good time playing it on that hardware, and I'm trying to get to a point where I can play for minutes at a time and make the people behind me wait longer ::agree

I think I'm pretty decent at it, I've managed to reach CRAZY rank before, but that was a few years ago now and I haven't played it that seriously since. I'd love to play on an actual cab if I can find one and try for a top score.

lately I've been jumping between Balatro and Straftat, which is weird because I think those 2 couldn't be further apart in gameplay or vibes

WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain.

If you don't know what to do, break someone's gut with a sledgehammer, turn his brain into soup with a steel chair and give a Stunner to the referee for good measure.
Then, you'll be fine.

Otherwise, a bit of Virtua Tennis 2 always feel like good fun.

Pokemon or fighting games for me. I just turn my brain off and roll with it.

Whenever I find myself in a mood where I can't decide on just one game, I tend to play some of my favourite beat'em ups like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Aliens vs Predator, TMNT, etc. Fun games that don't take long to beat.

I usually play Runescape if I want to game but I'm stumped on what I want to do specifically. I eventually find something to do on there.

For me it’s usually something Fire Emblem related, often Fire emblem 7 or 8, or Final Fantasy 6. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is also a big fallback for me.

I’m glad this thread was revived this is a good question.

Bookworm (GBA)
Tetris (Arcade, 1988)
Pokemon Shock Tetris (Pokemon Mini)
Crush Roller (NGPC)

I would play Who Wants to be a Millionaire for the GBC while waiting for food at restaurants, but the game actually moves wayy too fast to enjoy that with your friends at the table lmao, so that didn’t quite stick

Max Payne 1&2 and Hotline Miami 1&2.
