I appreciate all that Spike and the rest of the staff do. I think it's easy to take a community like this for granted. Maybe there are a lot out there like it, but I went, I dunno, 15 years without seeing one before finding the forums here? A place that is lively and welcoming, where you're able to stay anonymous and browse at your own pace without being manipulated by an algorithm...it's a sight for sore eyes for sure. Plus, with all the censorship and suppression going on lately, game preservation is more important than ever. It may be a little cliche to say that Spike and company are helping to preserve a piece of humanity's art and culture, but it's also still absolutely true.

My take is that this is the domain of the forum owner(Spike). He has set very particular and clearly stated bounds for existing within his domain.

People don't need to interact with the forum if they don't like those boundaries. They can just come for the repo. I don't understand why people break the rules, and Spike's trust, when ultimately they don't have to post here at all.

And I'm not talking about like, accidental rule breaks or the occasional crash out(i mean we're flawed beings, it happens), I'm talking about deliberate disregard for the spirit of the space he's trying to create. It's so clear that this is a diverse and accepting space for people to share their love of games, and not a space for people to make horrible jokes and jabs at other users' expense.

Idk this is probably beating a dead horse but meh. I was skeptical at seeing a traditional 'gamer' forum but it's proven to be the outlier in the gaming community in terms of acceptance and diversity, and I hope it continues to stay that way.
