WonderSwan The WonderSwan was robbed

It had some pretty good Digimon games if you like Digimon.
And the One Piece swan colosseum game is really good. Klonoa and Gunpey are supposed to be great as well.
Digimon Battle Spirit 1,1.5, and 2 are some of the best mobile fighters I played.

not usually but id love to try it out if only to see what they had cookin on the cute little thing. also looking forward to playin some of the translations that exist and those to come
Oh, I forgot to mention, it also has some great Gundam games not to mention some really good ports of Final Fantasy 1, 2, and 4.

The sprite art in some of the games on this system is miraculous. Truly a herculean feat of artistry within the confines of the technical limitation of the system.

The original Digimon World was a masterpiece and a lot of kids loved the Digimon pooping on the floor lol.
The 2nd and 3rd game were more niche for sure. 2nd being a dungeon crawler and 3rd being a traditional JRPG with ambiguous direction on what to do next from what I remember.

World 4 was a blasé affair after much more competent hack and slashes existed at the time of its release.

You are right Fox's meddling definitely sabotaged the glory of the anime but the anime was so good that it endured regardless lol.

As much as the sub is preferable I do like the Digivolution phrase of the anime dub.

Back to wonderswan...

I finally mustered up the courage to IPS mod a color.

I was terrified that I damaged the IPS because I initially put it in upside down and had to remove and put it back in.

I might have slightly damaged it and I need to reopen it anyways to put the switch on the side (forgot) and remove the electrical tape sticking out of one of the buttons. If my solder joints were shown I would be a pariah in the tech community as well. I am just thrilled it works.
I dopped in an IPS mod in my blue Wonderswan color, but after a year it stopped powering on. I need to take it apart and figure out what's wrong. In the meantime I have just been emulating games on my Analogue Pocket, but I miss the small form factor.

You're truly Miraculous. ::thumbsupwario

I've not had much experience with the system, but I did briefly emulate it for that one OG digimon game that was like a virtual pet.

Honestly, if I ever make space in my handheld collection I'm tempted to pick one up. I heard there are some gMes that are mostly playable even if you don't speak Japanese.

You can get them at a decent price on eBay, expecially if you order one from Japan. There are a few games that you don't need to know Japanese to play, and there's a handful of English translations. I picked one of these up a couple years ago and got a lot of use out of it.
