You know... For when you want to say maybe two or three stray observations about any game without creating a whole new topic for them (still feel free to do so, but here's the option to do it in a simpler way).

I'll start us off with something that happened to me yesterday: I was playing on a MiniJava emulator (for flip phone/old mobile games) and I was genuinely confused there for a second when it came time to input my character's name -- turns out that I had completely forgotten that I had to do so by cycling through letters on the emulated phone's numpad instead of just typing it in like you would nowadays.

That used to be second nature to me at some point and it's kinda funny how it has almost become "forgotten lore" since.

What about you?

I don't like that much those friday night funkin songs where the opponent and the player don't play the same note sequence, like, that was kinda the point of the game

I've been playing Project M and REX (Smash Bros Brawl mods) via netplay. In Smash you need to input a name to be able to configure custom controls which is a quality of life pretty commonly used among the player base.

The older games allows you to input your name in a non-intrusive way (without leaving the character selection screen), the mods in addition also allows you to configure the controls there.

So how the game handles name input without occupying the entire screen, you ask? Like this:

We have to do it every time we play too due to how the netplay works (unless we find a way to configure it), thankfully it's very quick and practical.

So yeah, that oldschool phone keyboard is never leaving my muscular memory at this point ::smug

To finish this post I will post my beloved which I used to play java games on back then. I don't have it anymore unfortunately:

I beat mission 13 in Ace Combat 7 and started the DLC missions, since they take place before mission 14. They are tough. I can't get past the first one! Stupid nuclear submarine.

I don't miss texting like that, but I did get pretty good at it back in the day

I think that the controls in NfS Hot Pursuit 2010 are quite stiff

I just learned that Gameloft used to put cheat codes on their flip phone games.

It's just beautiful.
