Thought the community here would be interested in this guide, titled "CRT TVs of North America Catalog" -- it's an extensive guide of consumer CRTs released in the States (with some bits of info about models released internationally).

The guide is organized by brand and release period, covering mostly from the late '70s or early '80s to the last models released in the mid 2000s. Most models mentioned include photos, inputs, model numbers, any known issues with the specific model, and any known mods to improve that model. Also, in some instances, the amount of customization for that TVs service menu is discussed.

Thanks to SegaSaturnNinteyFour and everyone who contributed to this amazing guide! And long live CRTs!

If you are someone who is looking for a CRT I highly highly recommend checking your local estate sales. I've picked up a few CRTs for cheap, around $20-60. It just takes patience to find the sale with a nice tv(weeks to months). Lots of Trinitrons and, no lie, I even found the legendary Sony GDM-FW900.

There is a website I use to see pictures of upcoming sales with dates. Not sure if I can post a link to that, but I'm sure with a little research you could find a website for your area.

I've been looking to buy one for ages! unfortunately because of where im from they are almost impossible to get. There is one local website that occasionally has a couple listed as an auction
but they always sell for heaps right at the last minute and because i live in the less populated island of NZ the shipping is almost the same cost as the TV!
I only wanted a CRT so i can play light gun shooters with a G-Con45 & ps1 setup.
but i just ordered a "Sinden" light gun from the USA that works on new TV's.. apparently ?
