This is likely to be one of the greatest videos ever made:

Just the fact that someone had decided to go through the effort of finding the specific scenes from that many movies and TV shows just to base the song around them already puts this above and beyond what was common at the time in terms of time and effort for a YouTube video (AVGN, Rinry GameGame and animators notwithstanding). It also doesn't hurt that the song itself is catchy and a bit of an earworm.
