It’s SEGA who made me understand the arcade, even long after it had died in the west. Enthusiasts had kept the Arcade dream alive, and I found myself in awe of an eight player Daytona USA cabinet. It would become my favorite arcade game, and the spot for treasured memories of the arcade experience. My time recently with the Sega Saturn has forced me to become even more endeared to the SEGA Arcade output. They made MANY arcade boards, but I chose to simplify it down to a few core options for you all! I encourage you to share your memories of SEGA arcade games as well!

Daytona USA was a classic. Other than that, my favorite Sega Arcade Games gotta be Outrun and Golden Axe. The Saturn have the best home console port of Outrun and Genesis or Mega Drive have a near arcade perfection of Golden Axe, even the Master System version is pretty good

I have a serious bias towards super scaler games like Out Run, Hang-On, After Burner, etc, hard to top those sit down hydraulic cabinets.

I had never truly lived until I played After Burner. Stepping into that machine and Rad Racer was the most memorable part of my trip to Galloping Ghosts Arcade. Suddenly, these games clicked for me, reinforcing my personal belief that emulation isn’t a cure all for games, because I will never get that experience again unless I hunt down another actual machine.

Rad Racer had me totally entranced, by the way. I had never played a racing game so deeply engaging and immersive. I came for the Sonic air freshener and I stayed because I found a game that was truly special.

Those encapsulate what I think of the "arcade experience" not just playing, but that sensory overload. You may hear the pac man jingle in the background, mixed with some car engines and a sub-machine gun, while looking at some attract modes.
Funny enough most of these cabinets(those also include the older Pole position) had that two speed gearbox and my dumb kid self was always on low speed.

I only know English and tried coding for 5 minutes before realizing it wasn't for me. Sorry homie.
It's actually not complicated. I have managed to do it in the end. I have missed one step, which was enabling/activating the cheat/translation on the game itself and for that reason it was not working. The whole thing works but it's not at all user friendly. It would be great if that translation could be added to the game with a patch, changing the file, instead of that process - as a cheat on a separated file.
I am not a coder either, so I will leave that hack to the experts.

I still only speak one language, and machine translation sucks.

They're great, but specially the last three are difficult to get through so quickly. Galaxy Force II, Out Run and Out Runners are my favorites. I like Sega Sonic the Hedhog too

Before I owned it on the Genesis I dumped many quarters into Golden Axe. I also played a ton of Daytona and was looking forward to the Saturn version only to see it run at 20 FPS. I still played the heck out of it, but the arcade was top.

I also got to play Sega Super GT (Scud Race) and Sega Rally a few times.

Virtual Fighter, Virtual Racing, and Virtual Cop were my introductions to 3D video games. It was amazing to see a giant arcade machine of Virtual Fighter in the local arcade for the first time, displaying graphics that were impossible on home consoles. (Poor quality image, but this is the exact model of cabinet.)
