I wonder what you think are the best musicians from your country who are not known outside its borders?

In Poland, the status of music legends have:

Krzysztof Krawczyk - vocalist and guitarist who has tried his hand at various genres. Among others, he worked with the famous Goran Bregovic. He died in 2021.

Zdzisława Sośnicka - A singer who has been performing continuously since 1963. She is still active.

Andrzej Zaucha - Musician, actor and self-taught singer, primarily a jazz musician. Died prematurely shot by the jealous husband of his female friend (who was suspected to be his girlfriend and wanted to leave her husband) in 1991.

Two performers stand out from the current top:
Dawid Podsiadło and Sanah

Ok, you may know Dawid - he recorded the song for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and also appeared in the game as Dante Carus. He also recorded the song ‘Let you down’ for the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Sanah, on the other hand, is an absolute phenomenon - sung poetry, pop, folk pop, sych pop and collaborations with, among others, Matteo Bocelli, son of the famous Andrea Bocelli, who himself is developing a career, although it is probably in Poland and Italy that he is mainly popular at the moment.
Both Sanah and Dawid are selling out stadium concerts in Poland, including at the National Stadium in Warsaw

I don't even know if my country has a good musician, probably because I like listening to music that other country made. But I guess it'll probably someone like be Siti Nurhaliza and Joe Flizzow (a fan of Snoop Dogg)

Here's a few songs that I kinda like though

Don't exaggerate. You have more internationally known musicians than Poland.
Late Avicii, Loreen - second 2 time Eurovision Winner, Lykke Li, Ace of Base (they were really big stars in the 90s), Amaranthe, Amon Amarth, Europe, Galantis, Icona Pop, Roxette, Sabaton, Arch Enemy, Army of Lovers (they also were big in 90s), Bathory, The Cardigans, Ghost, Günther, The Hives, In Flames, Swedish House Mafia, Basshunter (guy was big in second half of 00's), Dr. Alban, Zara Larsson, Tove Lo, Måns Zelmerlöw, Alesso...And I still haven't listed them all.

And besides musicians, you're forgetting about those commonly associated with Sweden - writer Astrid Lindgren and one of the world's most popular youtubers - PewDiePie

I'm not sure, but in my country (Brazil), the singer Tim Maia is not that well-known abroad, but what makes me happiest is that his songs are inspired by my favorite American disco artists from the 70s. Basically, he took this genre and kind of adapted it more or less and made a Brazilian version. Thanks United States too (:

If anyone is interested, these are quite famous around here:

Well, technically speaking Rod (who is singing here) is originally from Chile but definitely Die Ärzte:
Germany‘s best-kept secret and the self-proclaimed best band in the world. Started out in 1982 as a fun-punk band but they experimented a lot with different genres. Really funny, clever and sometimes evocative lyrics. Probably the only songwriters whose love songs don’t make me cringe.

Why does nobody know them outside of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland? Well, their songs are in German of course, and filled with the kind of jokes and references that make them virtually impossible to translate.

All of the three members, Bela, Farin and Rod have also done solo work, Farin‘s output being the most prolific by far. That dude is a songwriting machine. He also does amazing travel photography. Living the dream.

Speaking of impossible to translate: German hip hop has been kicking ass for a while now but Deichkind are still in a league of their own. They’ve started to gain a little more traction on YouTube because of their creative and weird music videos but if you don’t speak the language you’re missing out on the main course imho

Seeed are also pretty damn good:

I generally don’t listen to a whole lot of music from here but I recognize the greats.
