We're nine months into this year and here are the games that have already made their mark in 2025. Ok when I look at these games a lot of it is a matter of taste in my opinion. https://kotaku.com/2025-best-games-monster-hunter-split-fiction-avowed-1851767689

From that list I would say best of 2025 so far is "Keep Driving" but the game is not a cosy noob friendly game which I can imagine so many people would regret playing it lol.

Outside of that list I would say Freedom Wars Remaster is the best of 2025 so far lol (obey and complete your 1,000,000 years sentence in prison, citizen!!!). But I also heard the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer game will be out of early access soon so I think this game is the 2nd best lol:

Owww baby baby!!!

Oh and of course this game is the 3rd best for me:

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound's there, all is right in the world.

Though this list does remind me how far I've fallen behind on games this year >_>

I've played a couple of those games and Clair Obscur is my clear winner. It has enough influcence going to feel old-school but also many new additions. Also, A+ soundtrack :)

Do to being broke sense 2018 I not had the pleasure to play many new games. Sure I played Space marine 2, Monster hunter wolds but that´s becuse I was gifted the games.

So if you ask me what 2025 is the best this year well it has to be Monster hunter wild it´s the only game from this year I own and played.

And if you ask the morons calling them self game journalists it´s Assassin's Creed Shadows being the game of the year all years or even Concord.

I don't think anyone gives a crap what Kotaku thinks about anything anymore, they made sure of that.
Plenty of good games out this year so far though.

Clair Obscur was good, never finished it though, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and the new Shinobi are both flat-out great, as was Wuchang until the devs broke its story to placate some remarkably thin-skinned Chinese nationalists and then there's Silksong, of course - haven't had enough time with that game yet, but it's also great so far.

My personal picks currently are actually two early access indies though - Project Silverfish, the best Stalker-like I've ever seen and Jump King Quest, a game I expected to hate but that I've become completely addicted to instead, it's a rage-bait platformer mixed with some Soulsike elements and fuck me I have no idea why, but it works way too well.

I can't play this game since i don't have a ps5, and my PC can't play it (i tried, 5 fps at LOWEST graphics settings, gtx1050ti graphics and yeah the rest of my specs are below standard, 8gb RAM and no SSD)
it would prob my 2025 game if i can play it lol.

Concord's legend is beyond a year, it's the most rubbish fail of the video game industry!!! lolol

In spite of all the criticism thrown at it, Monster Hunter Wilds. But that's mainly because I play on the PS5 which seems to be the benchmark for running the game according to Capcom's optimizations. If you don't have a very beefy PC and even with that, some people still can't make it work properly, it's a world of trouble. I can understand why it's getting so much flak.

But on console and at present (unless some new update ruins something), I'd say Wilds is really good...I mean even World didn't give us new seasonal singing (from the Diva in the Gathering Hub) a couple of months or so.

Kotaku is incapable of determining what is a good game, considering their "journalists" have a documented history of getting stuck on tutorials and rarely if ever finish the games they review.

Silksong is the Game of the Year.

If great game is $20, why is trash game at least $80?

Little Kitty, Big City is amazing.
Doom the Dark ages is excellent.
When it comes to remakes? Oblivion, MGS3, Front Mission 3? Nah. System Shock 2 sweeps.

That explains why in new games the game freezes randomly all the time just to splash random tutorials that takes ages to read and get on with that continues until the end of the game + obvious signs on where to go like my good guy marked everywhere you should go with paints and whatnot BS + not to mention GPS system even though you play Skyrim lolol.

I only can accept Silksong and Ender Magnolia having the title of "best" games of an entire year.
I fully agree with with Silksong .
I dont play it because it aint for my taste but its long-awaited game and it actually delivered what it promised .

Otherwise , this year was either very dissapointing , okay-ish or utter garbage.
MGS Delta even was blah .
Looks nice , performed horrible till the patches arrived and it seemed not even worth to be remaked overall .
